Help to identify ebike tiny version of 1T4 plug please

Hi, My Puckipuppy ebike has these water sealed plugs that are smaller in diameter than what my new zoom brakes and Bafang throttle come in, so it won't fit onto controller harness, the manufacturer does not understand when I ask, so I am wondering what are these called so I can look for an adapter from one to another. Thank you so much

You could cut and solder your replacement thumb throttle instead, so you're not damaging your original equipment, but @harryS 's approach is the best way to do it.

There's probably not any real risk involved.
I've got almost a dozen throttles and if you get the wires wrong, they just don't work.
You still have to be careful and it's best to solder and seal your wires.

One thing I've found, is that if the ground wire on the throttle breaks or disconnects, the throttle goes to FULL Throttle !!

That's why I like my Das-Kit throttle with the reversed voltage.
If the ground wire disconnects, the throttle goes to zero.
It's much safer that way.

A good controller will also throw a voltage out of range fault and force you to clear it via software for a throttle signal that is too high. My Baserunner controller from Grin does that.

It wasn't my controller.
It will deactivate/disregard the throttle input if the voltage goes above 4.2V (or below 1V) and I'll get a red alert on my display.

The problem was with the Hal sensor and circuitry in the throttle.
If the ground wire disconnects, the throttle doesn't go to +5V to trigger the throttle fault.
It goes to full throttle output of ~4V instead.

I made a throttle using a motor speed controller (variable resistor/ potentiometer) with the correct resistors on either end, and it worked "properly" and safely by triggering a throttle fault.
The voltage went to +5V when I disconnected the ground wire.

I understand the mismatch now. I also bought a set of Zoom hydraulic brakes a few years ago, but never got around to installing them, I just tried to fit them to a 4n1 cable I had, and yep, they are too big,

Then I measured my cables. They're 6mm, so are M6. .I also measured the connectors in Peter's pictures and if the smaller ones are 6mm, the bigger ones have about the right ratio be to M8's. My zoom connectors are also M8's. Odd, I've never seen another size in the water proof line in all the ebike stuff I own, other than the loose fit between Higo and Julet.


I don't think this is fonkypuppies problem. They're using pretty much the standard m6 on their harness.

For me, when it comes time to install the zooms. I will graft on a smaller red M6 connector.,

If Peter can get a pair of red M6 and one yellow M6. he could probably find a PC repair kiosk willing to solder them on the brake levers and throttles. For the red connectors there are only two wires and it doesn't matter how they connect.

For the three pin, I suspect they will use the same collor code on the wires, but if they connect the like wire to the same pin position on the new connector, it will work.

That's what I did to install my KT controller/ display.
I had some weird 2 pin Julet connectors on my Tektro brakes that I couldn't find anywhere,..

That's dual throttles connected together into a single connector.
(thumb throttle and ½ twist throttle.)

This picture shows my brake switch connectors,..

It had a strange three pin connector for the headlight too.
It only used two of the pins.

I used plenty of dielectric grease and fuzz to seal the connectors.

Thanks for the offer. It may indeed be 6mm. Does the yellow color correspond to the size? The replacement I ordered was yellow in the pictures, but what arrived was orange.

Yes the 6mm measurement is of the yellow portion of the plug.
The outer waterproof jacket is obviously a little bigger.
