help me choose!

Hi,
I'm brand new to this forum. My husband and I are buying bikes just for recreation. We're getting older and those hills are starting to look daunting. Our budget is limited. I want to stay under 1,800.00. We've got it down to and iGo - Elite or the Magnum ui6. Both are newly redesigned this year so I'm not finding too much on those specific models. I'd love your opinion, and also what you think about those companies, as I understand customer service is very important. Oh, and we'll be purchasing from a dealer here in the NY area.

You haven't specified where you are, but I'll assume the US and your budget is in US dollars. I bought the Juiced Cross Current S and I find the performance at the price point to be unmatched. However, it will almost certainly be heavier than the Blix.

There were issues with spokes breaking on earlier models of the Cross Current S, but since they switched to Sapim spokes fall 2017 that issues seems to be largely resolved.

Second Captain. I have a CCS, have had zero issues after 200 miles, besides a quick front disc brake adjustment when I unboxed the bike, to avoid brake rub. I rarely even go full speed (28+ mph), but the power for hill climbing and and acceleration, and the big battery especially, is very useful.

Thanks to everyone for their input here. We decided on the iGo Elite. I did check out all the other bikes suggested above, but most were way out of our price range. The iGo had the larger battery 48volt and 500W motor as well as the step through design we were looking for. All for the 1,700.00 price range. It seemed to be a good value for our price range. I'll let you know if we chose wisely after we've have time to ride them for a while.

Had I known you might order from Canada I would have suggested Voltbike as I think they're better value than iGo. Oh well, as long as your purchase works out for you, that's all that matters.

Don't think Voltbike has anything as elegant as the iGo Elite. Think OP made a sensible choice and obtained good value.
