I have Tektro Hydraulic brakes on both my ebikes, and they have crotch screws.

My levers do appear to have a crotch that is indeed being screwed?

Maybe they'll give birth to shorter, two finger lever babies

Not sure if we are talking the same thing but TRP (Tektro Racing Products) brake levers have not just an adjustment screw but a screw that you can operate with your fingers even on a ride.

Initially, you set the brake lever position so it matches your fingers' length. As the brake pads wear, you feel the lever becoming mushy. Several turns of the screw with your fingers, the lever returns to the preferred position and becomes firm again. I could not find such a screw on other brand brake levers but well my experience is limited in this field.

Did I say that before? When I was a kid, my Mum (who was a scientist) said: "Acids can be strong as the sulphuric acid or weak like the sulphurous one. Some people are just witty. I hate the wittous ones".

Any reason not to be serious or practical?

The Maguras have a tiny set screw with an Allen head that does the job.

Just for clarification: "Crotch Screw" is not a real term. I just didn't know how to most simply describe it most succinctly. Maybe it is a term now? Lever crotch screws? Never heard of them. Now I can't describe it anyother way.

Dad owned a Moto-ski but we took it Ski-Dooing.

I upgraded it with a leather seat (suede actually) and bar end shifters.

It had two adjustments for the brake levers, and two quick release levers to open the brakes up far enough to get the wheel off.

Drift Maniac DNP freewheel

I use those Drift Mechanic "Maniac" freewheels all the time. They are beautifully polished nickel plated, are not expensive, and come in 11-34. They are so much better than the Tourney ones that come as original equipment on so many hub-drives. It just requires a mid to long cage derailleur. On @Go-Rilla's bike one big improvement would be a Mico-Shift push-push trigger shifter.

My shifter is kinda crappy.
It rattles all the time and it's annoying.

And I stretched the cable out of adjustment by pushing the shifter button too hard.

Fortunately, I don't need to use it because I just leave it in second gear.
My mid-drive motor goes the speed limit in second gear, and mid-drives are happiest spinning fast, so I just leave it in second.

All the gears are for people that pedal, so it turns out that I don't need the Drift Maniac freewheel or the two chain wheels.
All I need is a one speed.

But I bought another chainring anyway.
It's smaller, so I can use more of my gears.
