Head-/taillight not turning off on Marin San Rafael

Hi, folks.

After bike commuting 30+ years, at 61, I’ve decided I’m ready for a little push on the 200-ft climb home. Just got a Marin San Rafael I’m very happy with. It’s making San Francisco’s topography feel more like Kansas City’s, which is no mean feat.

I’ll ask the shop about one issue tomorrow, but I thought I’d post here, too. I’ve got an SC-E6010 Steps computer that controls everything, including the lights. Biking in an urban area, I want them on day and night. But not once I get home. When I hit the light button to turn them off, they only dim down, without turning all the way off. Once the bike’s been sitting awhile, they do go off, but I figure this is just a battery-saving feature and not the way it’s really supposed to work. The front light’s a Supernova, and the back one’s integrated into a “Standit Shine” rack.

If anyone has any experience with this, grateful to hear about it.

Thanks.

Rob
