Evelo is developing or has developed a powered front wheel, battery and controller for existing bikes.

I started looking at the Omni Wheel two years ago before I bought their Aurora. Last year I looked again for a kit for my old Mongoose. I didn't care for the solid wheel. To me it looks out of place on a bike. Also I saved around $300 with the Leed kit, which doesn't stand out as much. Evelo does make good bikes though.
