eBiking the Erie Canal

Wonderful blog! Enjoyed reading so far. Nice pics. Congrats on a fun tour!

Two things would discourage me. One is having to share roads with cars. The other is the shortness of each day's jaunt. I only recently discovered how carrying a spare battery makes more things possible.

Great write up Dave! That is one heck of a trip, and you seem none the worse for wear. Thanks for sharing your ride.

I just completed a ride across NYS - most of it, anyhow, had done the rest in day trips - on my Trek xm700+. Thought some of you guys might be interested.

Way to go Dave! I'm doing another leg of the C&O Canal this month, should be great. Fall foliage is amazing this year, maybe the best in 25 years with the reletively cool wet summer. I really enjoy the ebiking lifestyle threads, thanks for posting!

Nice travelog! I've been riding the Hennepin Canal in Northern IL. Not nearly as many cities or towns, and more primitive infrastructure left on the canal. Great riding though! I ride either my Full Seven or Trekking, depends on how primitive the sections are. I was on a real smooth stretch but came upon an erosion washout on my last trip, glad I had the Full Seven to ride down and around and just keep going. Ride safely!
