Dropper Post for Old Folks

Do any older riders add dropper posts to make on/off the bikes easier?

As the years start adding up, it's starting to be a big lift getting a leg over the saddle. And step thrus for XL sizes seem not on design boards.Yeah, you can lean the bike over to the side, if the groceries aren't too heavy or the hips too stiff.
Stuart - this is a bit of a hijack, but a well-intended one. I am a fellow oldster. Started noticing that the leg swing over my big ol' Gazelle was getting harder. I already was doing yoga, but have been spending a bit more time on that and getting a bit deeper into the lunges and it has made a noticeable difference. Hopefully that will buy me enough time to ride my Gazelle into the ground and replace it with a step-through.

I just love hijacks, thanks. Since the bionic knee, I'm doing morning stretches 4-5 times a week on a yoga mat. Does that count?

I have a PNW Coast on my Timberjack. Dropper works well. The suspension part - jury's out on that. It works, but feels different than the Thudbusters on other bikes. I think I need to play with air pressure. It's not as predictable as the Thudbusters where I have it set, which I find a little surprising, but I also have only taken it on a couple rides, so time will tell. I also ride it on trails where the other bikes stay on mostly pavement, so I'm not sure I'm comparing apples. It's certainly better than a rigid post. Using it with a Wolf Tooth lever, which is buttery smooth and precise.

It's a bling factor with benefits. I'm gonna order that Fox seat post dropper but I need to measure how much drop I want 😫 to place my shoes flat on the ground...
Fox is overkill, you're paying for the name (not that I am innocent here!). Highly recommend PNW's posts, they are good quality at a fraction of the $.

I doubt they add dropper posts specifically for that purpose but having dropper posts on my 2 Reise & Muller SuperDelites the only use of the dropper is for ingress/egress. These bikes are not inherently good for black diamond Mt Bike trails ... nor am I.
