Different chainring

I saw a short video on Youtube where the guy swapped out his stock chain ring 42T for a 104mm 46T. He said this solved the resistance problem when in high gear PAS 5. Does this sound right?

I went with the 53t set https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071LPKGT2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I can't imagin 46 would be enough. %3 is perfect and I still have resistance at 24 mph

Bob, which model & year bike did you do this with, and did you have to get a longer chain or add links? Did you also do (or even consider) switching to the4 11-32t DNP freewheel others here have used, also?

I added both the 53t front and 11-32 DNP, did add a new chain. The combination works great on my 2016 RadRover

Just put a 50t on my City roadster, giving me a 92" top gear, and keeping the rest the same, just bumped down a notch. Found a good USA made one here:

I added the 11-32 DNP freewheel and no change to chainring and it added plenty of resistance in high gear. You will need a special split freewheel tool. Rad sent me one free. Call them. You will also need to slightly adjust the inner and outer rear derailleur limit screws.
