Crosscore rc rear rim/ speedometer

Hi I bought a used crosscore rc. Got it for what I thought was a steal but it's cost me a arm and a leg. Long story short I had to replace the rear rim and went with a aftermarket suggested by my bike shop. Of course we didn't think about the built in magnet for speedometer. Now I have no speed reading which is fine but the motor kicks off at 16mph now. Any ideas? Closest dealer is 3 hours too BTW.

Sorry IDK, but the new tires look nice.
Maybe the post about civante speed sensor would be helpful.

How did you resolve your issue? How can the motor turn off at 16 mph if it can't detect your speed?

I just purchased a new rear wheel for my Yamaha CrossCore. I fit the Yamaha magnet assembly in the disc centerlock area and all seemed fine. BUT a few seconds into the test ride the display turns red and states "CHK MAGNET". This is frustrating. I am seriously considering moving the frame-mounted pickup forward and placing a magnet either on a spoke or on the crank arm. I don't care about having the correct speed.
