Are you impressed?

My definition of a triathlon is different from the International Olympic Committee's. Events can include any physical activity you choose to include, but you must complete three in a day. For instance, today's triathlon events consisted of Pilates, a bike ride, and a dog walk. Duration of activity is all up to oneself - - this is not a competitive sport. The object is simply to not rust. One is competing only against the Barcalounger of Death.

Other events which count towards a daily triathlon achievement:

Gardening, firewood splitting, badminton,

Raking the leaves, sex, moving heavy objects

Lawnmowing, a hike, wood stacking

Tree planting, a canoe ride, doing the floors (sweep, vacuum, mop, wax)

Climbing about on ladders doing the gutters or pruning trees, washing the car, filling the truck with stuff and dumping the stuff somewhere else

Washing the windows, helping a friend with moving house, dancing...

Treadmill, rowing machine, digging of any sort...

Your events may be different. So you see, it is a very flexible sport. My aim is to achieve a triathlon 5 days a week. Of course, this will become easier when the weather is more cooperative.

If you manage to complete a triathlon, come here and tell us about it. Good luck!

Haha loved your definition of triathlon, I guess the important thing is to keep moving forward and getting better regardless of the activity/sport

Ya, I'm telling you, despite my best intentions, I have managed to complete only one other triathlon so far this year, instead of my earnest hope to do five a week. It may sound wussy, but it is not for the lazy, once you get to be an oldie.

But really, once the weather gets better and the days longer, it will be easier. Then it will be easy to pull off a bike ride, a dog walk and badminton after dinner any day of the week. Or a bike ride, gardening and a ladder event. Or...

And competitive wurst wrestling is not an allowed event 🤨.

I was slow getting going this morning but I did get a marathon in: 1. I got out of bed. 2. I made coffee. 3. I drank some 🤣🤣🤣.

Feeling surprisingly peppy after all that activity, so may try to get another marathon in later this afternoon 😉!

Yes, required to show ID at the gate, must wear a reflective vest and must wear helmet. The base I ride most on not the operational base (we have two bases), but the one with the Exchange (department store, Commissary (grocery store), and housing. The camera thing is not an issue, as long as I stick to shots of the scenery and not any sensitive stuff. The reason I got the yellow-cover trailer was to be more visible. No official safety check necessary, but I do have lights and a bell, too :D

Firewood warms you four times: once in the felling, once in the bucking & splitting, once in the stacking, and once in the burning.

Anyway, today I completed a triathlon:

First event was ladderwork pruning twenty foot high kiwi vines attempting to take over the planet (ooh! I could name it Vlad...), and included carrying the loppings all the way across the yard many times.

Second event was a bike ride into town to the bank, plus and extra few miles just for the fun of it.

Third event was dogwalking.

What about anyone else? Any triathlons to report today?

Another triathlon today!🏅
First event: I helped heel in 1500 baby western red cedar trees (that means digging a trough and laying the seedlings/saplings in and covering up the roots.)
Second event: dog walking;
Third event: a ten mile bike ride, with an average speed of 18.3mph. I admit that on the downhill, I was zooming at 32mph, but even so, I was really booking it out there on the rolling flat.

Many days I manage a biathlon, but until badminton season is here, triathlons are a lot harder to put together. I almost didn't go for the bike ride, because my back was tired from the tree work, but then I scolded myself: triathlons are not meant to be easy! Maybe I could count three biathlons as two triathlons? 🤔... But no! That is an unnecessary cheapening of the sport. We must maintain standards.

Anybody else? C'mon now!

Here in the upper Midwest our Spring weather changes drastically day to day.
Monday: First ridable day, 13.8 mi (22.2km) around town on my white Aventon Pace 500!! Mostly perfect conditions except for a few sections of mud & puddles.
Tuesday: We received 1” of wet slushy snow. ☹️😩

My Tuesday Triathlon
- One hour shoveling snow off decks & steps (wonderful hubby does our driveway)
- Cleaned dirt off a white ebike that has no fenders. It was bad, but could have been worse.
- Folded the laundry that has been patiently waiting in the dryer for a couple days. Cycling takes precedence over domestic tasks! 🚴🏾‍♂️

Ok fine, Foofer. Mr tough guy. Lol

Tandem? Is Mrs Foofer much better after surgery?

Two days ago ...
Restacked the firewood pile that collapsed in the mud.
Prepared the first three raised beds for planting.
Rode the bike on a 6 mile loop.
Opened a 12 pack of beer. DIfficult packaging.
Yesterday and today tied up driving my wife to have knee surgery and bringing her back.

Can’t wait to hear that you both back on the tandem.
I put Schwalbe G-1 2.5 inch tires on the Vado. Mostly because I can keep the tire pressure done to 26 lbs which provides a softer ride. They are slightly knobby so they kind of “hum” while cruising along.
And I suspect with all your accessories and tinkering there are suspension seat posts on the tandem.

I invested in 38-622 (28 x 1.5") Specialized Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss tyres. Expensive. Fast rolling and fantastically suple in rough terrain!
