Im building up a super cheap bike.
I cant believe how many rock bottom priced parts you can buy that turn out to be pretty good

Crank, 16 quid delivered.

Got front and back hydraulic brakes, dual piston with discs for 25 quid delivered.

Bottom bracket 6 quid, pair of 2.6 tyres for 13, seatpost 8 quid.

They all seem really good quality.

Though I havent tested the brakes yet 😂

It is crazy prices isn't it. I bought a carbon fibre seat post for 15 quid a couple of years ago. Have it on my (non electric) rigid mtb. Just bought it out of curiosity, to see how the quality is as I'd not bought anything online direct from Ali or Temu etc. It seems fine. Is light but no issues - so far. Do follow up with some ride reviews and show us all the parts you get. Are you going to get wheels for instance? They look tricky as even from China the decent looking ones are still pricey, too dear to just buy on a whim as no idea how good or robust they'd be.

I've been buying from Alibaba & AliExpress since 2015, generally good experience.
I have bought 4 or 5 sets of similar cranksets, but in 152mm length for my wife's and the in-laws multiple ebikes, since they are mostly under 150cm tall.
Good tips from video below:

That's helpful. Though the Panda Podium site he recommends seems to be for high end road use ie mostly carbon fibre titanium etc products, which though undoubtably cheaper then Western branded products are still expensive. Maybe as they grow they'll add MTB, eBike specific etc.
