Canyon E-bikes coming in 2021 to USA!

I don’t understand how people can expect the “premium” manufacturers to be able to produce a higher quality, mid-level eBike for under $2,000.

For example, my 2016 analog Trek Crossrip with mid-level components (currently doing duty as my winter exercise!) was around $1,700. How can someone expect Trek to be able produce a similar quality eBike for that. The numbers just don’t add up In my head.

Subtract the Trek premium and the retail presence, that's 30-40% right there. We're talking about Canyon which doesn't have brick and mortar stores. Call that $600. Remove the brifters, front derailleur. Maybe use an open mold frame. Add another $300 to the price. $900 extra to cover the extra electric bits sounds plausible.

Seriously? you going to stick to that?
You fail to realize all these boutique brands include their Pro-tour numbers in their overall sales numbers.
No different than Pinarello, Bianchi, Willier, Cervelo, Colnago, DeRosa and other boutique brands.
Many of them knuckle-up sales numbers as marketing to try sleuth in to consumers to think they are the new greatest toaster.
Lol approximately 0% of this made sense. Find me articles saying those brands do $500m in sales.

Colnago: 22m euros vs Canyon's 400m. It would too painful to you to continue.

400m euro = $490m USD.

Zoominfo doesn't list it's source or year. There are tons of dodgy websites selling white papers so I can't say I trust that much.

I hear you on the zero cadence immediate kick in on the Yamaha motor. I am on my second season riding a PW-X motor on my eMTB and it has been a flawless performer. Before that I was use to a rear hub drive with a torque sensor and I have to admit, I find myself on the Yamaha more than on the rear hub drive. I currently have the stock KMC X10e E-bike rated chain on mine, however, I may be due for a replacement after 2500 miles.

Just curious if your chain just snapped, or did it show excessive stretch causing a need for a replacement?
side note: Someone on YT did a Shimano chain comparison with both types: E-bike rated and Non E-bike rated: The end result found the Non-E-bike rated chain lasted longer and had endured less stretching. More points to ponder on chain replacements.
Saddle replacement is also a must. I upgraded to the Serfas Dual Density W/Cutout saddle which I am also happy with.
As long as charging your bike is not an issue now, it appears that it is all good to go. Had it been more of a broken disaster, 3 month wait time would probably feel like an eternity.
The SLX chain did not break, - it measured .75 on my Park CC-2 tool after only 187 miles so I replaced it. The miles were all in dry conditions and I lubed the chain on a regular basis. Problem might be that I ride Boost 100% of the time. (I'm 67 so I am still getting my exercise)

In regard to BOOST, I lowered BOOST and raised TRAIL in the App and I prefer BOOST. I do plan to tweak the "assist start" to see if I can get more of that Yamaha feel.

Nah. Most companies offer lifetime frame warranties. The Canyon 6 years only applies to what Canyon itself manufactures, which is just the frame/road bike fork, possibly the cockpit. Certainly not a motor or battery.

They Don't say what is the warranty for the motor or the battery . I don't think they have a great warranty , it looks like they want the buyer to contact the manufacturer , no good.

Yet you are so vehemently shilling a projected number from a spokesperson lol, Canyon sells more bikes that Specialized, go spread the word and according to those figures they are half of Trek.
You Google BMW's inflated sales figures fine yet?

I didn't say Canyon sells more than Spec, but that I don't believe some random white paper website, those things are a dime a dozen. Nor do I dispute that companies may lie. The notion of Canyon being a boutique brand like Colnago is funny though lol. Don't know why you're so wedded to that, maybe you can explain?

Canyon has more models than all but four bike brands, among adult non-BMX models. More than even Specialized among bikes $900+.

Good call on the assist start feature. Yes, the .75 mark (I have seen reported) is when it is time to replace it.
I attached a speed delimiter to my chainstay (BadA$$ Box), so I rarely need to ride in the highest assist level More than enough power output in STD mode. However, I ride in Boost mode on my other rear hub drive driven E-bike, so I get that need to keep it going at high speed on flats. Seems like the bike was meant to be ridden that way.
