Bosch Nyon-A few questions

I have Riese & Muller bikes that came with the Intuvia, so the equipment needed for changing over to the Nyon only involved swapping the left grip control unit. The reality is that the only way Bosch will know if the Intuvia mount was installed by you rather than by the dealer is if the dealer informs Bosch. Our local Trek store has some great people working there, including in the mechanic's section. They know the drill, realize that I am pretty capable, and have no problem with me doing some of the work and letting them do the more technical stuff.

It is an hour maximum of mechanic time to change out the display mount, including dropping the motor to run the cable. Even If you are perfectly capable of doing the work, if spending that $100 of labor time keeps your warranty from being at risk, it is well worth it IMO.

All that said, on my Delight Mountain, I have installed a Bikespeed RS which voids my warranty anyway. The added capability and performance of having a CX motor with no upper speed assist cutoff is worth the risk to me, especially considering how few warranty issues seem to come up with Bosch motors. Not saying there are none but they seem to be very infrequent according to all the shops I have spoken with. I have also spoken directly with Bosch North America and confirmed that adding a Nyon will not impact their warranty.

I just got my Nyon on the bike today. It is the 1G version on eBay (from Hong Kong). Same as many of you have mentioned ... still with plastic screen protector on it, looks brand new. Once connected to wifi/internet it wanted to update the firmware which it did seamlessly to 1.7.5.0. Put the Nyon in the Intuvia cradle but didn't change the remote controller (which I have) as I was anxious to check it out on a ride today. Seemed to work fine but .... the angle of the cradle for the Intuvia put the Nyon pointing up above my head at the sky so from my viewing angle there was a ton of sky in the background. With white clouds above on a half and half sunny day it was VERY hard to see sometimes and ... the GPS map was literally unreadable. So I changed the angle when I got home and hopefully it will be better next time? Have any of you dealt with issues similar to this at all ??? I wish there was some way to change the "contrast" on the default ride screen but I don't see anyway to do it. Only the brightness? Anyways I'll keep at it. and read some more posts on this forum.

UPDATE .... yes, turning the Nyon downward instead of having it somewhat flat totally fixed the reflections. Nyon remote controller now installed.
