Bike trailer

Thinking of getting a trailer to pull behind my La Free E+2 so I can use it for moderate grocery shopping and errands around our compact little city.

I notice there are two types - the kind that attach to the rear wheel, and the kind that attach to the seat post area. Is there a big difference in stability/maneuverability/ease of connecting and disconnecting between the two? Anything particular I should consider before going this route? And, any moderately priced recommendations?

Thanks!

I bought one of the Wike Flatbed trailers:

I also went a little overboard and bought 2 each of Rubbermaid Brute 14-gallon and 20-gallon totes. That is more cargo space then I'll likely ever use at one time, but can mix and match them as needed. The only problem I had was finding a bungee long enough. So I bought a pack of these:

... along with some 3/8 inch bungee cord and made my own adjustable length (up to ~9 ft using a 10 foot cord) bungees.

I own the Aosom Folding Bicycle Cargo Trailer unfortunately it's not in stock right now.
but the seat stem attachment couldn't be easier.
The male bracket connector bolts to the stem and the female connector on the trailer towing arm
connects to it by pushing a red button and it click locks secure. easy peasy.

Heres another thread about trailers: cargo-trailer-on-sale

I googled it and found it at Walmart for $124 and Overstock for $134.

Yes it's good value.
The 16" wheels run true, really nice.
I've towed it with a 24 case of beer, 3- 23L bags of garden soil and 4 bags of groceries.
Up and down paved hills, stop and go at intersections and it corners well too.
You have to slow your bike speed down though. Over 12-15mph things might get scary.

I don't think I can use it on my Rad Rover as there is a Topeak rear rack and bag rig on that one and the bar height of 32" would only barely clear the the top of the rack. I have a Rad Mini on order so it might work with that. I'm going to put a Rad rear rack on it but that bike sits a lot lower so it should easily clear or maybe it could somehow attach to the rear of the rack.

My bike has a four bolt attached rear rack. I do have to remove it to use the trailer.
You want the tow arm to be parallel to the ground.

I like the idea of the seatpost mount, and I've been looking at this Burley Travoy

I like the idea of quickly disconnecting it and using it as my grocery cart in the store. That way it's not going to get stolen while I'm shopping.
Not too sure how it would fit with my rear suspension though.

TomD has that one I think.

Ok... the La Free battery pack is under the rear rack, so I'm thinking the seat post attachment style probably won't work for me 😨. Do those type pivot, or is the arm fixed like the axle attachment is?

if this is your bike battery placement get one that attaches to the wheel.
it's the same style of disengage for most trailers and yes they pivot.
if your bike is mid drive even better.

Maybe you could have something welded to the top of your rack that it could attach to.

Yeah that makes sense. It still might work with the new Rad Mini as it will most certainly clear the rack on that bike. Won't know for sure until I get it to measure.

Don´t get something that attaches to both sides of the axle. if you have a rear hub motor. This may seriously complicate fixing flat etc. Not familiar with La Free. A post mount can limit the use of a rear rack. I´m thinking
maybe a travois.🐎....I have come up with a way to mount a dbl axle type onto the stays above the axle.
