I have had my share of issues with my Stromer ST-1 Elite and the Platinum they replaced it with due to intermittent electrical issues.
My Elite was ridden 1800 miles, and my Platinum has 1900 miles on it. The Platinum has been totally reliable until yesterday. Took off on a 15 mile ride--the gold battery showed 84% of capacity. 8 miles into the ride, with just under 50% of the battery power left causing along on flat land, the power to the motor stopped completely. At first the LCD display was ok, but a couple of minutes later it shut down. What I noticed before the LCD shut off was--the arrows showing amount of power consumption were gone. So I assume between that and the fact that I had to pedal like crazy, the motor wasn't getting any power.
I tried many times to restart it. I let it sit for 20 minutes and was able to restart it and rode it a few hundred yards, but the battery icon showed it was at 0%. When I charged it overnight it would only take 85% of the normal capacity, not 100% as it always has in the past.
Any thoughts before I take it back again to the dealer? Getting very frustrating. Bad battery? Short circuit? Torque sensor?
