6 year old Giant LaFree battery question

Hey there - several years ago I posted about occasional battery disruption after going over bump, etc. figured it was contacts and mostly it went away. Now I’m having it happen a lot and wondering 1) I realizing I’m hitting length I’d lifespan for original battery and what are the signs of needing replacement (I’d assume it would be shortened life span but not finding that - does it include the disruptions I’m noticing - cutting out frequently even if able to restart) 2) in today’s world of constant tech improvement does it make sense to invest in new battery assuming I can find one? Anyone know if this is a general issue with the ~2018 manufactured Giant Lafree bike? Thanks.

Sounds like a connection issue to me. Maybe try some electrical contact cleaner spray on the battery and terminals on the bike. If that doesn't help I'd take it to the shop and have them diagnose. Could be loose wiring.

Sounds like a problem in the wire harness which leads from the Yamaha DriveUnit to the battery. For this DU the connectors are on the toppart of the DU, so this one has to be tilted downwards to get to the cable connectors.

Capacity of the battery can be read after pushing the battery button for 30 seconds, it will show the current cap for this battery, 1 led is 0-24% 2 leds 25-50% etc.

I suspect this battery cable has an intermittent contact. Its the one coming from the battery pack and leads into the DU

the cables on these DU are on the topside, so the du should be tilted downwards to access them.
