Audio alerts with Sena M1 via BT from Garmin Varia RTL515?

Hi All

We are loving the Sena M1 Bluetooth helmets but are wondering if anyone who has both the Garmin Varia RTL515 radar taillight and the Sena helmets can tell us if you can get the audio alerts directly to the Sena, or do you have to have a smartphone running some kind of app to hear the audio alerts?

We don't have any sort of bike computer but do have smart phone mounts for our iphones.

That would depend on in other alerts come though the helmet? but you need more then a beep to use the full benefits of the radar.

I don't have the helmets you describe. However I use the Garmin Varia app on my Android mobile. The audio warning signals are heard in my headphones while the mobile remains in my pocket. Works well.

I don't see any difficulty in using an iPhone in a similar way.

Yes, I think the beeps certainly will come through via a Bluetooth linked phone as you can listen to music with the Sena helmets. I suspect that without a linked phone running an app, that the Sena helmets would not link directly to the Varia.

It does require a smart device running the Varia app. The 515 will not connect directly to the helmet BT.
