Are RIDES in Mission Control backed up in some way or some place

Well, that's the main gist of my question. Does Specialized have the info backed up? I just logged into my Specialized account and don't see anything.

If not, is there a way to backup or copy the data (distance, duration, Aver speed, elevation gain, etc) from my various rides other than the individual "export" function? I don't use Strava or Kommot. I have managed to convert FIT files to gpx but the data is not what is displayed.

Thanks.

Kahn,
I strongly recommend you invested ten bucks in the BLEvo app. Not only it is a marvel (its capabilities exceed those of MC tenfold) but you can freely backup and restore BLEvo ride data. By the way, the way BLEvo handles the data, how flexible it is -- is beyond any belief.

the rides are stored on specialized's servers, e.g. the cloud.

as long as they stay in business, support the product, and you remember/can recover your login, they're secure. ;) exporting the data as a fit file seems a good idea though, and i haven't ever noticed that it isn't an exact match for the data shown in the app. be aware that some platforms which import/view fit files reinterpret the data, so if you're seeing something slightly different that doesn't mean the data in the .fit file isn't intact.

All of your rides tracked with the new Mission Control App, however, will be saved to cloud servers and remain available—even if you change phones.

Stefan,

I have the BLEvo app and agree that it is great. However, I have yet to find a way to backup and restore ride data. Can you help out? Thanks.

It is very simple.
In BLEvo, click Configuration, then Backup and Restore. When you click Backup, BLEvo will pack your all ride data into a ZIP file, then offer "sharing" it to the cloud (it is Google Drive for Android; not sure what is used for iOS). When you are about to restore the data, BLEvo will connect to your Cloud and ask which backup file should be used for Restore.

When I click configuration I get the screen as shown below. I am using the iOS version of the app. Maybe it doesn't support the backup/restore functionality that you are describing?

I guess I was looking for a DISPLAY that mirrors the Mission Control page like below (I did not scroll for more data display) on my desktop or a browser window.

I you can't get it sorted, MC has a built-in upload to a free komoot account that will put a copy on komoot's server as well as Specialized's servers . Komoot will display the ride map and data in a browser.

you need an application to view the data. specialized offers the mission control app for phones only. lots of apps (web and otherwise - like strava, ridewithgps, gpxsee) can view .gpx or .fit files.

here's gpxsee viewing a .fit file exported directly from mission control. note the power data, etc. i do not think bike power is included in the fit file export, rider only.

I just grabbed Komoot. Looks okay. Not quite as detailed at the Mission Control display.

I will look for that one, too. I've already got Mapsource and Basecamp, having had Garmin gps units for eons! But those do not show that extra data. FIT files were giving me a FIT as even searching did not turn up much. Finally, Basecamp was found to deal with them. Then I could export to a gpx format.

Pretty minimal data compared to some others, but still more than I need or will actually even look closely at, and it's been reliable .

gpxsee seems to work well with the original fit files, no conversion required.

another tool i like is the gotoes.org fit/gpx merge page.

if you have other GPS or health data in separate files, it does a great job combining tracks.

GPXSEE is really nice. I was surprised when I tapped the back/forth arrows and files I had not loaded (I used drag and drop to open my FIT file) showed up. I gather it reads the entire folder.
