From China for certain, but what isn't?
Installation only takes as long as it takes one to change a wheel once a tire is mounted along with cassette of choice. I got mine with a nice looking Keyde stainless UL certified "water bottle" type battery which is the only wired connection. I often use it with an old but functional non-proprietary 36v battery. It's up to 11 speed cassette compatible - I think some models like the thru axle version are 12speed compatible, currently I have it on a 3x10speed moutain bike. Controls are wireless, just load the app on your phone and you're ready to go. Almost silent running.
I did try the advanced settings using the 1919 unlock code that Peterecosse provided and increased peak watts to 750 but it made a intermittent chattering sound at peak power so I'm going to go back to the factory settings. Hoping I didn't damage it.
