Anyone familiar with these bikes?

They're not listed under the brand thread (BH is, but not this model)...

I believe one of them is what I'll be riding on my Italian ebike tour in October - not sure which yet. I think they're both mid drives, and the Rebel resembles my La Free. Just curious about whether anyone has any experiences with either?

No experience.
The Torpado is equipped with a no-name mid-drive motor and a smallish 468 Wh battery. At least the battery is integrated.
The BH is equipped with even smaller 400 Wh battery. The mid-drive motor comes from Yamaha. 60 Nm torque is not bad.

Neither of these e-bikes is fantastic but they should do their work. What more to expect from rental e-bikes? (As for Italy, the only viable option for our vacation is to rent a Fiat 500. Fiat 500! What to expect from a car at on Italian rental? Ah, those Italians...)

I love the cinquecento ❤️ - we've rented one on a few occasions. Not much room for luggage, so it's a good thing we travel light, but a fun little car...

We chose a Panda (writing to you from Tuscany right at the moment). Not too much torque as for Tuscany inclines but still doing well!

I'm jealous. Spouse and I keep dreaming about a bike tour, but health issues (chemotherapy...) keep getting in the way...

We're dreaming now of an inn to inn tour of Amsterdam to Belgium next spring during tulip season (Keukenhof...). Some interesting options, some eyewatering expensive (Backroads...) some less so. Suggestions welcome...

Why not start a new thread about that? Keep this one on topic.
I did once. Little traffic.
Since when do threads stay STRICTLY on topic anyway? You've been around here a while. You should know your comment is a bit over the top...do you police other threads too?

Tuscany - I hope you get to visit Lucca - it's one of my favorite towns, and where I usually go for Italian school ☺️.

How hot is it???

I have always had wonderful experiences with this river cruise company. You can tour Holland and Belgium, and take your Inn with your 😉!

I'm ok with this, thanks, Dave. Touring is kind of related to the topic, as far as I'm concerned 😉.

I don't think I've participated in a single thread here that's stayed strictly "on topic" 🤣🤣🤣.

Up to 38°C 😊 The heat is not tiresome here in the mountains with dry air. We're sitting by a swimming pool right now 😊 Our apartament has very good AC, thick walls and window blinds. The Fiat has perfect AC.

Lucca? It looked to me like a spa 😊 We'd go to San Gimignano, Siena, Arezzo, Volterra, Pisa but I don't exclude Lucca in any case!

Our cena of last night. I used to be a wine man in my past. Here, delicious inexpensive Tuscan wines: Sangiovese di Toscana and Vermentino 😊

Lucca? Yes, fascinating. Spent two nights there a few years back.

One challenge for ebike tours that I'm seeing is that bike quality varies widely. Some use R&M bikes. Some use no name hub drives. One even shows pictures of bikes with rim brakes. Wonder how old those are?

Yes, rental bikes are frequently not top quality. Hopefully, as this sector of the industry grows, quality will improve 🤞.

You're thinking of Bagno (Bagni?) di Lucca, which IS a spa town 😁.

Regular Lucca is a wonderful little medieval city completely surrounded by a lovely wall, which has been turned into a park. You can rent a bike and ride around on the wide gravel lane on top of the wall while looking down in the city within ❤️❤️❤️.

There's also a tower with a tree growing out if the top!

Thank goodness you said that was cena - I thought you were drinking wine with la collazione 😱!

If you're still there, IL Pellegrino, in Piazza San Francisco, is a wonderful place to eat...
