Anybody tried Clik tire valves?

I wonder why you as a guitarist have never jumped on the Gibson electronic tuning :) Or, have you? :)
Fancy an acoustic guitarist playing cheap instruments trying to teach you about the electric guitar or complaining on the Floyd-Rose bridge. That is Seth in the analogy :D

So, a guy playing Amazon electric guitars is an oracle?
"The triumph of technology over the common sense".
Leaving this thread for good. Yes, I will read your review!

Seth is plainly stupid. If you have watched Berm Peak videos, you would notice he rides cheap MTBs and he has no slightest expertise in e-bikes.
  • He has ridden the cheapest Amazon e-bike and praised it. He started the video with ripping the battery apart.
  • He promoted a US$2,000 Bimotal drive that you can attach to any disk brake pedal MTB.
  • He bought the biggest start-up failure, an e-bike called Reevo several years after the start-up collapsed.
  • He dragged two Levo SL from the skip and made one that could ride.
  • He is complaining on Presta valves because he is too stupid to operate them. He wants to make Schrader Great Again (is he even aware the hole for Presta is smaller than it is for Schader?) He promotes Clik because he is too stupid to handle the Presta correctly.
Seth becoming an apostle for the seasoned e-bike community is more than I can bear.

A quality tubeless Presta valve.

Agnostic here... I have no apostle mate.
It's $18 CAD. If it's a POS, you were right. If it works and/or is good/horrible we'll all know.
I'm the only winner/loser so far, so who cares?

Clik valve cores could be actually good. You will tell us :)
I simply cannot bear the omnipresence of Seth references in this Forum; notice the Original Post.

Another comment from a different forum...
I think you’re gonna like them! The more I use them the happier I am with them - just really convenient and I’ve found that they lose less air than Presta (my tire pressure on my road bike drops far less overnight with these).

This thread really isn't about Seth. It's about a new tire valve design that seems worth a try at near-zero risk.

The fact that I first learned about it from Seth is totally irrelevant. I would have been interested no matter who brought it to my attention. Others are interested, too. Loyalty to Presta is clearly not universal, nor should it be.

Let's reserve judgment till some credible user reports come in.

Jeremy, the fact I despise Seth does not mean I do not respect you.
Schwalbe has recognized the Clik valves, meaning we can expect a new inner tubes sometimes. They will be certainly more expensive.

I... wha? Have been watching his channel for years. He does some of reviews of less expensive bikes and does his "fix up a bike for someone" series, but last I saw his main personal bike was a Revel Rail, which are several thousand dollars. Hes not an ebiker, but hes ridden several and done many videos on them and never, to my memory, been unreasonably negative about anything ebike. Hes been pretty clear that he may own one someday, but hes just not interested in one at the moment.

Yes, and the entire video was "look how awful this thing is".

Have you even watched the video? It was pretty evenhanded about the drawbacks of presta but also the drawbacks of various other standards, and his conclusion was "eh, valves aren't mission critical, maybe I'll try something else on my next build to see if I like it but otherwise I'll stick with presta".

Lol!
Looks like there was a clean up on aisle 6...
I'm glad I didn't add any other components to my bike, like I dunno... an after market suspension seatpost or stem.
Oh wait...
🤣

Still light outside so wanted to install those Clik valves instead of waiting for the weekend.
Super easy, was done in 5 minutes.
Let the air out. Removed Presta valve cores, screwed in the Clik valves and tightened.
Tried the floor pump first. Put the Clik adaptor on and a few strokes later I was up to 30psi. Kind of feels like more air is getting in per stroke, but perhaps that's subjective.
Pulled out the Fumpa and put it on the Clik valve. To my surprise I did not need to hold it on if I didn't want to. Habits die hard so I still held the Fumpa on, but in seconds was up to 34 on the front. Checked it with the Clik enabled floor pump (Bontrager), and it was showing a little over 29, so gave it a couple more strokes. All good.
Threw on the caps and done.
No beers were harmed in the process.

Will try the floor pump without the adaptor next time.
Preliminary observations are positive. Will check pressure on the weekend before a ride and update my experience over time.
Smile on my face. No more fiddling methinks/hopes...
