Any way to add a front or rear wheel motor to a thru-axle boost bike?

My understanding is that front and rear wheel motor hubs need QR slots to have something to push against, so boost thru-axle out of luck for motorized wheel conversions?

The bike I'm looking at is my wife's 2021 Salsa Fargo. Since the rear dropouts are changeable, I could swap TA for QR in the rear. But I'm not sure what the axle width standard would become. For some reason I doubt it stays at Boost 148. Maybe it drops down to QR 142? Probably doesn't narrow all the way to 135.

Bottom bracket motor is off the table. We want to be able to get back to analog bike quickly and easily. Just looking for occasional watts equalizer on longer and harder rides.

Anyway, if you could help by providing the up to the minute info on this topic, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

You might find that Grin, if you follow the link above, has at least another option for a hub solution? I believe one is also a geared version so that gives you the available spectrum to choose from. I have had the All Axle front version since its Beta days and it works very well and as you suggest makes going from e to thee quite easy although if you want PAS you also have to use a different bb which doesn't interfere with the thee part. I only use a throttle to set the wattage desired as I use a Schlumpf bb.
