Any NJ E-biker's here ?

Getting ready to purchase first e-bike, have been following EBR for month's now and just wondering, any NJ e-bike user's on EBR? I've been actively looking for an e-bike on the road and have yet to spot one (was hoping to be able to pick someones brain here locally, NJ laws etc) plenty of different types of bikes here but haven't spotted a hub or mid drive anywhere. I live in Bergen County and there's a serious lack of ANY e-bike shops anywhere near my location, which is weird being that I live in the most densely populated part of the country. My options are the shop's in NYC or Chris out at Long Island Electric Bikes, I'll probably end up going to Chris, I like his post's on EBR, but still he's 65 miles from where I live, so if I have problems it'll be about a 2 hour ride each way. Sorry to babble on anyway just wondering if there's NJ riders on EBR. Thanx

The weirdness could relate to the legal status of e-bikes in Jersey. It was mentioned before on the forums, I think, and Wikipedia has a bit: Electric bicycle laws - New Jersey.

Hey Clark! Glad to hear the site has been useful for you... Chris is a great guy and there's something awesome about visiting his shop because there are so many different models to try out

I'm not sure about NJ but Chris and I went up to Albany to discuss ebike laws with Senators a while back and I think they were moving towards legalizing them. Hopefully New Jersey follows suite. Don't have much to add about shops in NJ or people you could meetup with but there was a neat event called "Charged Up" that was held there recently. Maybe they'll do it again next and we could meetup for a ride or something.

Hi , I live in Nj (monmouth ct) , I have a mid drive Felt lebowske and I didn't have any problems with law enforcement yet.
Been at the trails and beach riding and do get a lot of questions from people in learning more about ebikes ...
Was talking with one of those strava purist mtb on the other day and he didn't say anything bad about ebikes , actually he said ebike will be the future .
I've seen a lot of bad comments about ebikes on trails online and I don't understand how my ebike damages more the trails than my regular fs mtb.. A lot of misunderstanding going on between 1000w throttle bikes and mid drive bikes ...
