Abus keyed-alike options

I’m curious about the Abus keying system that comes with R&M bikes; I’ve got a Supercharger 2 on the way with matched tumblers for the batteries and the included Abus Bordo 6000.

Which Abus u-locks can be ordered keyed-alike to the bike? I’ve heard there isn’t universal compatibility among the Abus cylinders, but the Abus web site says almost nothing about this. Can the 540 be keyed alike to the Bordus and batteries? How about the Granit Xtreme motorbike lock? (With a powerful e-bike, why not just carry the heaviest lock regardless of weight?)

the problem is there are not a lot of locks that you can get matching keys for. I am working on it for my Bosch bike. you have to get them through a dealer and to get new locks that fit your key have to be ordered through a dealer direct from Germany. the locks are really limited too by looking at this page. they had disc locks when I looked a month ago and now those are gone.
abus keyed alike locks it may be easier to buy new locks that come with a new bike lock that matches.

Funny you should ask that. Got a new bike, and thinking about it myself - wrote to them the other day! They were very quick to respond with the following:

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for reaching out to us. Since your bike comes with an ABUS Plus key and Key Code, you can order any other Plus keyed lock. I’ve attached a PDF that shows the current possible options. These can be ordered at your local bike shop through our US distributor Highway Two. I’ve include a second pdf that can be filled out by you and your shop to place the order. The last thing to note is that there is a 10% extra cost to the locks, this covers the shipping from Germany to the shop.

plus the locks are really limited and they are not the best locks that really sucks. plus they took a few locks off now.

Thanks everyone—that’s really helpful. Too bad the top-grade locks aren’t included; looks like I’ll be buying a lock or two without regard to the keyed-alike feature, and carrying two keys. That’s not a big deal, but it’s be cool to have the same key for everything.

Yes Was hoping. my dealer is checking the price to bget a folding lock a new cafe lock and a new key to rekey the bike to the locks. now I carry these around

I just received a Bordo 6405 keyed-alike to my Trek Allant. 13 of 15 on the security scale. It is a stout/heavy lock. I had asked the dealer for the 6500 and they came back and said it wasn't available for keyed-alike - I didn't quite get the explanation. But this is one sturdy lock nonetheless (and I always use 2 locks when leaving the bike on a workday).

I also have my R&M Charger GX keyed-alike with a Bordo, a Bordo alarm lock and with my Tern GSD's cafe lock.

For my gen. 1 Supercharger I ordered a Abus 5750L frame lock (keyed alike the Bordo 6000 and battery locks already on the bike) and a mount plate from Riese & Müller.

Maybe they have something like that for the Supercharger2 as well?
I opted for the chain as well and it has been extremely useful.

I gave up on the idea of the same keys. The cost is too much to get the long folding like and a cafe lock with a replacement battery lock it a over 250.00 the locks are about 130 by themselves so I am just going to do this. I need to flatten the keys so they sit well.

If you need a long u-lock and don't want the hassle of yet another key, you could consider the new Bluetooth Abus 770A SmartX lock.

This is an intriguing lock particularly with level 15 security (my Bordo alarm lock is 10) and thanks for posting. I wasn't aware it was on the market. For someone like me who has lost or had a smartphone stolen, its a bit disconcerting to not have a backup system (ie spare key at home). I'm trying to apply this to my commuting scenario and now I have spare keys to my locks stored safely at home or locked in a desk at work. I guess if I lost my keys during the workday, worst-case would be Uber home to get spare keys. Whereas with this product, is a similar system to have it paired on a family-member's device? I watched the Abus videos on Youtube and one mentions a function where you can loan it to another person via the app but it didn't address whether two separate devices could access the lock independently. The instructions download at the Abus site say you must not lose the QR code in case a smartphone is lost but the instructions don't address what the procedure would be for accessing the lock absent the phone. The instructions also say that the battery cannot be removed but it doesn't address what the procedure would be for replacement at the end of battery life (is it a throw-away product)? The Bordo alarm is not rechargeable but uses a CR2 battery that is easily replaced. I'll be eager to see a more comprehensive review on the product.
