nothing wrong with the stock specialized that my base 2016 Turbo came with, but am intrigued to see how the 28 handles on that heavy of a bike. Anybody have any experience?

I downsized to 700x35C Michelin tires. The bike handles great and feels more like a regular bike. For a slightly less harsh ride, I am thinking about going back to the stock 700x45C's. I think that I would prefer a bit more rubber on the road than 700x28C.

What really matters is total weight of bike. Plus rider.

I'm 200 lbs and my bike is 21 lbs. I ride on conti 4000s black chili peppers. The premier road tire. Great ride wet or dry and fast. 700x23

If you went 700x25 it would be even faster, and you'll forget all about schwalbe or verndstein or specialized tires!

Even the fastest tire becomes s*it slow once you have to pull over for a flat change

Contis are excellent for not getting flats. Guess u could put a thorn resistant tube and liner. I run with Michelin butyl rubber 115 psi. Awesome ride
