Thats not riding on sand, its parting it like moses

No experience with fat tire bikes, but I know what it's like to ride in the loose, dry, deep beach sand that @RabH showed with 38 mm (1.50") and 60 mm (2.35") gravel tires: It's hopeless. Can't imagine any skill level making it rideable at those widths.

Q1. So how wide a tire do you need to ride that stuff comfortably on a reasonably powered ebike?

Once saw a guy really struggling on 4" tires. Got bogged down a lot. But I think the late Matt Robertson got 4" knobbies to work well on this kind of sand on a 2 wheel-drive ebike he built himself. (Miss that guy.) Makes sense.

Q2. Would 5" be wide enough with RWD only — without kicking up a rooster tail?

At least 4inch and running low pressure, you can make 2.6s do it, but at practically flat.
If I overinflate the 4.8s for the road, they are useless in super soft sand.

I fitted my spare gopro under the peak which allows me to film without reaction, we dont see many orthodox jews, but theyalways look like theyre on a mission

Its strange that the fire completely misses the path

Bit close, if it was in another few feet I would be turning back for a mile or scrambling the bike over

In the summer the beach fills with various ethnicities, we never see them again till next summer

I noticed the guy in pink was eyeing me up, the other guy completely ignored me.

The lovely young lady had an amazing voice and whistle, she was playing only to me at this point.

Several supercars were being shown off.

It depends how deep it is. I have been able to power through short stretches of loose sand, but it had a packed base. Beach sand, no way. Plenty of people ride 4" analog fatties on the beach by deflating their tires, but adding the weight of the drive system has to make it challenging.

Emilys Tower over looking Abergele, this is part of the huge mock castle and this whole hill has been turned into an unofficial mtb trail centre.
The tracks are unworldly and there are climbers all over the tall granite slabs.
Ive been out 6 hours, 32 miles, 3200ft.
An epic ride, pushing hike a biking, on my hands and knees.
Simply fantastic.

I rode 25 miles today and took a look at a wind farm that’s going up.

We drove to Southern Illinois and spent a night to be in the middle of the last eclipse here, April 2024. We were more or less dead center in it so it lasted a few minutes. The best way to describe it is a 360 degree sunset, very cool. You can feel it cool off when it happens. My daughter was going to school in Carbondale so she saw the one in 2024 and the one in 2017. Both were total and happened to criss cross in southern Illinois.

got a coupe more crows today. though I am going to ahve to use the map to find them all. the fist one looks like a very cool bridge the St johns bride.
