2023 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

A brisk 38 degrees but nice and sunny today… over the next three days we are expecting a foot to a foot and a half of snow.

the idiots were out today. got the lady on her phone parked in the middle of the street. notice parking lots on either side? The next lady sees us and goes and turns in front of us anyway. we have to get on the sidewalk and pus the walk button as the light detector does not catch out bike enough though it has a spot for bikes. third one vehicle is pumping out smoke they got the hood up but still running

London UK would be the simplest answer 😊 (The photos are from Bethnal Green and Shoreditch).
Best bagel (or beigel) shop on the planet. Good old Brick Lane. Many the stop late at night (very late night) for a salt beef bagel with the hottest mustard ever, keeping a beady eye on my bike outside on way home from a club. Good times. Amazing cheese cake they have too.

Making me hungry now!

I was told @Rás Cnoic the place has been there for at least 30 years with no single change to its looks!

Eight years ago there. I was not familiar with London at that time; a friend living in London brought me to that Jewish fast food place.

The Shard View

That London skyscraper is truly impressive! The Shard (of Italian design) located in Southwark (south of the Thames) is 309.6 m (1,015 ft) high and has as many as 72 inhabitable floors. (And I thought the Warsaw Pałace of Culture and Science was high!) 🤣 The entry ticket is £32, and you may include a glass of champagne for £16 extra 😉

I wonder how they wash it and how often 😊

Top: London eastwards of the London Bridge. The round building in the front of the Tower Bridge is the London City Council. Tall buildings far in the background is the Canary Wharf.
The bottom photo: HMS Belfast permanently anchored by London Bridge.

Great quality pics Stefan, its funny that the Tower bridge isnt that old and is a perfect example of retro construction, just like Westminster itself.

An excellent pun indeed! 🤣
I walked a lot on Saturday! From Brewdog Soho through Denmark Street (famous for guitar & bass stores) then through Covent Garden, Southbank, Tate Modern to reach our hotel in Southwark. I proud as I have some mobility issues and was overcoming them! (Of course many pounds lost but not kilograms) 😊

What does this shop sell?

100% sure that the Buddha would have ridden a bike if they'd been around. As the perfect be-here-now machine, it would have been exempted from his general disdain for worldly things.

I just turned the tv on and accidently left it to run into Eastenders, the most depressing soap opera in the world and the bbcs flagship, London based show.

If you want to know the real London , watch an episode.

Wet and drab when I left for an eleven mile loop yet tomorrow looks worse. This ride was my first with a cheap ($15) sound-dampening velcro fuzz for my helmet straps. though the wind today was light they seem to reduce the hiss riding over my hearing aids. The recent thread on wind speed brought the item to my attention. With a warmer later week I plan on riding to the river where the steep declines should tell me more.
The bright green field and the brown one from early November are of the same parcel.
