2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Not much of a ride perhaps if we’re counting miles but here are photos from my ride to Stockholm city last night.
There is a photo exhibition on a square called Nybroplan by the water in center city. It’s to draw attention to and inform about The Royal National City Park. It was declared a national park 25 years ago.
Here are two maps. First shows the park area and the red dot indicates the exhibition site. It’s a 4 mile ride one way for me. Second map shows my home position.

My photos taken around 9pm.

Such a perfect day for a ride, I couldn't have asked for better cycling weather! I just wish I had more time but I'm not complaining, 56 glorious miles in beautiful countryside is not something to grumble about! It was good to have all my gears back, I sure needed them! ;) I think it might be some time before the smile disappears from my face, it really was that enjoyable!😁

I have now passed 4,000 miles for the year and what a year it has been, like no other for sure! I needed a change of scenery today (most of my recent rides have been in an easterly direction) so I set off in a southerly direction at 8am as I knew the roads to the south that are normally very busy would be quiet at this time on a Sunday and thankfully I was right, I think I was only passed by 1 truck which certainly wouldn't be the case on a week day! I was surprised at the lack of cyclists, maybe it was too early for most of them!:p

I couldnt of said it better.
The years since having my ebike are like no other, every where I go.
'I could ride the bike here and over there.'

I was going to post some pictures of my Wigan ride, but after putting together about 10 I thought I might as well post the vid.
Only 6 mins... :)
Apart from the dogdoo mishap it was rather uneventful and not as interesting as I thought the canal was going to be, I had one mishap pushing the bike through an anti motorbike contraption that was obviously designed by someone into fetish dungeons, the entire bike had to go in this large steel structure with the pedals set just right and I managed to shear a phase wire struggling to pull it through.
Mild panic , but a quick botch repair and I was off again.
What a sinking feeling it is to be 20 miles from the van with a dead bike.

What peddle it?

Nice day for it, good thing you were able to repair it! Great video once again!

Weird weather indeed. Last week humid in 90s...today after days and days of rain...8 inches just yesterday not far from here, I shoved off in clearing skies then had to cut short After 10 miles. Cold and a light rain. Love your photos Rojo

Brix' First Electric Ride Ever

She made it! Riding her Vado (I was riding the Trance E+), some beginner's mistakes, low cadence, good spirit! We rode to the car-wash to take care of the Giant bike that time.

Brix doesn't look very happy here. She actually fell with the bike while cornering into a bike path almost at standstill. I had told her on the trip: "We've forgotten taking the helmets; the ride must end with a fall..." It was a self-fulfilling prophecy... Not more helmet-less rides anymore!

That was good for her to have her own private paramedic :)

Not bad as for the first electric ride ever.

Ride stats & map. We are going to West Pomerania for the second half of the week to ride there.

I'll write this up whilst cooling off. Just a normal ride or Tourdee Okanogan. I have my closest calls with vehicles on the weekend. Today almost got flattened by somebody trying to live the country music dream of gettin' to the lake in a hurry. Wish I had missles on the front of my bike. But, I set out to do a minimum of 20 miles and ended up doing 23 and drinking a lot of water. Here's a couple of pictures of interest, I think. The first is a junkyard display. I think the little car has Napcar written on it. Get it? Not NASCAR but NAPCAR.

This old car carcass was just behind the Nap Car.

On down the road there were some cute widdle goaties. Very cute.

Well done Brix, hopefully the fall won't put her off! I think we have all been there, best to get a fall in early to prevent over confidence! ;) Look at me, riding for well over 50 years and I fell off at 2mph!🤣

Brix says "What doesn't kill me, will make me stronger" :) Thank you Rab for your kind words!
She wrote to e-bike hater on Facebook: "The e-bike doesn't ride you. You ride e-bike. It is not it rides you from point A to B. You, unfortunately, need to pedal. Yet to each their own" ❤

Great video. I am not good at sitting still so watching your videos at the end of the day is my idea of meditation. Thank you! 🤣🚴‍♀️
