2018 RadRover Full Fenders?

Greetings all!

Has anyone found a decent set of 3rd party *full* fenders that fit the 2018 RadRover?

I'd like to buy a set from Rad Power Bikes, but they do not currently have a product available. I understand they are only in the prototype stage of a new set of fenders, but it could take months before they are finalized and available for purchase (if at all). Living in Seattle, rain is imminent at all times, and I'd like to stay as dry/clean as possible (as well as keeping my bike/battery/controller free of mud and grit).

I've searched the forum and google for full fenders that fit a 26/28x4" tire, but it doesn't seem like anything is available. With the thousands of bikes Rad has sold alone, you'd think it would be a good selling product.

I'm perplexed that a Seattle-based company that has developed some of the finest electric bikes available would have been able to offer a set of simple fenders for their bikes by now. I digress.

Thanks in advance!

Rad Man: I agree. I will patiently watch your thread to see if anyone has seen anything. My Rover is coming in this Friday!

I wonder if the front fender on the Voltbike Yukon 750 would fit. The rear fender would depend on whether or not it's attached to the rear rack.

Rad Electric Bikes told me in mid June that the Radrover fenders are being redesigned and are expected back in late Summer or early Fall.
Also, Rad seems to be working hard to get more items in stock as they have more items coming in this week so I'm hopeful they will arrive sooner than later.

I called Voltbike about the Yukon 750 fenders and they could not verify that they would fit the Radrover without modification...sounds like they don't have any direct experience with trying them on the Rad bike. Also, these fenders are powder coated metal.
I was interested in trying them however they said they would charge me $50 to ship them from Blane WA to Seattle!
That's a good shipping price for a bike but not a set of fenders especially if they don't fit correctly!
Modifications, if needed, could be tricky as cutting and drilling the metal fenders would cause them to rust unless repainted.

I would rather go with the Rad fenders unless they're delayed beyond summer as plastic should be lighter and quieter.

$50?! Sounds like someone is trying to support their habit. Waiting on Rad is probably the best option.

@CodyDog: Congrats! Exciting isn't it? These are so enjoyable to ride. My rover will be replacing my car as my primary means of transportation. I was totally sold on these as a functional means of transport (and genuine value) after my first test ride at their Seattle headquarters.

@PCDoctorUSA: Thank you for the suggestion on the Voltbike fenders (LINK). They certainly look like they could be modified to fit. I know Portland Design Works sells parts to help with the process of custom fitting fenders to your own bike (LINK). I do agree with Rover1701, $50 to ship them from Blaine to Seattle is insane, and eliminates them as an option for me.

@Rover1701: Thank you for reaching out to Voltbike on the fitment. I agree with you on the shipping, totally outrageous. Yet another reason that Rad continues to dominate the market.

@all: More internet research later... it appears a lot of fat bike owners (of all makes) have been exploring the market for options to no avail (going back several years). I'm totally surprised the market hasn't responded to the demand by now. As a result, a lot of owners have come up with some fairly creative (+impressive) home-brew options, such as re-purposing political signs, plastic file folders, 4" corrugated pipe (LINK), or even dirt bike / motocross fenders (LINK). I like the corrugated pipe idea, I may have to try that out until RAD comes out with a solution. If I do, I will certainly post it.

Thanks for your responses!

Let us know if you happen to come across anything that works for the Rad. I did come across these on AliExpress for only $19 with free shipping from China. It's the only ones I could find that are 4" wide. Really surprised I couldn't even find something on Ebay.

When I purchased mine last month, Rad told me that their new Rover fenders will not be available until December 2018 at the earliest. I don't know why Rad felt the need to redesigned the Rover's full fenders. Has there been any complaints with the older fenders? The older fenders fits perfectly, has a very low profile by being so low and close to the tires, and they look quite good on the Rover. I'm very disappointed that I couldn't purchase a full set of fenders for my new Rad Rover. But I am very eager to see what the new ones look like on my 2018 Rover. Hopefully, Rad will make them available sooner rather than later.

That's disappointing, hearing about the RR fenders. I may have to visit a motocross shop. This front fender for example looks like a decently nice fit for the rear of whatever bike this fellow has:

While on Facebook yesterday, I came across MRI-Denver that makes a rear fender for the RadMini. I emailed them to ask if they have one for the RadRover. They told me it will be up on their website soon but it requires the RadRover rack for mounting. Here's a sneak preview pic they sent me.

That looks like a Topeak rack however the silver rack supports are different,
Mine are flat silver metal rails but those look much beefier.
