sorry to hearI just posted this in the zombie thread. My Turbo S was purchased in November 2014. It's been dormant for about five years but I've recently added an Abus cafe lock and started using it again as an local errand and shopping bike. I don't trust it to go much beyond about 5 miles from home.
My display went bad too but I bought 2 extra units ahead of time. Was well worth the investment. Hope you can find one somewhere.I'm still riding my 2015 Turbo X, bought in September 2016. I ride it three or four times every week; now for over a decade. It's on it's third battery, with the second covered under warranty. Front disc brake brake replaced with a Shimano unit. Current issue is the Clean Cockpit Turbo Display has failed. it's my second unit and it looks like it it is not available anywhere. I would love to buy one from anyone anywhere. Currently, the bike works but is in full turbo mode at all times.
The unfortunate part of this story is that essentially all parts of the "e" portion of this ebike are obsolete due to the fact that the Swiss company that produced these parts for Specialized went out of business a number of years ago. Here is the word from Specialized, confirmed with the folks at Performance Bicycle:
Hey Ray, unfortunately we don't have any of those laying around or able to be ordered. With that failing you wouldnt be able to set any of those parameters since the display is what controls all of those parts for the app and such. Finding a replacement is the only way to get that functioning again.
Hey Ryan here. What I believe Max is suggesting is looking third party with the part number you gave us. Ebay, Marketplace etc. We produce spare parts for x amount of time and unfortunately that is the case here.
It's disappointing that an otherwise well-functioning bike has to be junked because a single part is not available. On the plus side, I get to shop for a new e-bike.
