    LaFree +1 Auto Mode?

its not so much discipline but frugality with the battery as I want to have juice when I come across a big bridge or hill. And I don’t want to kill the people I ride with as they are not on ebikes I did it once recently and Now my hubby wants an ebike too

    LaFree +1 Auto Mode?

I rarely use auto mode. I prefer level 1 or 2 assist for most situations. I use higher assist only for Steep bridges or if I am riding to work and want to be less sweaty. I finally did a 50 mile ride for tour de cure last weekend using level 2 assist predominantly. It is the first time I...

    What is your security set-up?

Kryptonite Ulock, abus bordo and a master handcuff cablelock designed for motorcycles. I also have insurance from markel as I commute frequently in a high theft area. I do park it in this rack at work, which is located next to the garage attendant.

Best touring e bike options that have Gates Belt drive system

I love my giant lafree. I have the 400w battery pack and can easily go 60-70 miles per charge. Larger capacity batteries are available. It’s no Riese Muller but it was under $2600 and I ride it at least 4 times a week for various distances

    Lafree E+?

Elby has Bionx components and that company has gone bankrupt Elby slashed prices and stated that they had reserves of parts available for future issues but that was enough to deter me despite the more flexible size range the Elby can accommodate. my lafree has an awesome, smooth, belt drive...

    Lafree E+?

I have a new lafree and I love it. I commute a few times a week to work. I ride it on social rides with my roadie friends. I did purchase insurance due to commuting in a high theft area, but I lock it up very well. I liked it best out of about 20 bikes I tested. I originally liked the Elby...

Looking at ebikes - need more info

I searched a long time for a bike under 2k and then I found my giant lafree with internal gear hub and belt drive. It ticked all the boxes for me and then some. It was listed at 2400 for the belt drive model compared to 1900 for the chain and derailleur model, but I felt the decreased...

    Yamaha ebikes

It’s great so far. I get about 50 miles on a charge. I have been riding on group rides with my bike club for years. With the electric assist, I really enjoy not killing myself on hills or struggling to get rolling from a stop as I have genetic condition that causes pain and subluxations of my...
