There was an everything boom in the 1970's, that was when the world collectively went of the Gold money standard and nations started inflating their currencies to keep pace with America that had led the way. Gold put a break on how much money could be created, which put a brake on how much people could lend to bid up houses. Around 1970 most people would have been happy with just one house but now they want 2 or 3 each lol. Investment properties. Well we'll see how that works out for them. There was a real estate boom in the 1970's.
Are you a GenXer, born 1961 and onwards? That generation is the do it yourselfer generation, the latch-key kids that were raised unprotected and left to explore the world as they would. The stuff I got up to in my youth raises the hair on most millennials heads but to us back then it was just normal anti-social behavior lol. If I wanted to go to the other side of town I'd jump on my bike and head off, catching a tow off the tie-rail of a semitrailer up the steep hills. Behind the dual rear wheel sets naturally. Today the kids are bundled in the car and chauffeured across, after they have their sunscreen applied that is.On the whole the generations below me are far more reserved, law abiding and much less reckless.
Its probably phone cameras that have caused most of it and the continuing encroachment of logged consequence will reduce it to only those with nothing to lose.
1961 is a baby boomer. Gen X was 1965-1980.Are you a GenXer, born 1961 and onwards? No. That's what many now claim but Strauss and Howe, who wrote the book on generations, pegged it as 61. But I know this from simple observation, every baby boomer basically has the "They should do this they should do that" mindset, they trust the system to work it out, especially relating to government. But Gen-x doesn't even trust government, they avoid that sort of thing and get on with finding their own solutions. It's no surprise that S&Howes work has been discredited though, given the fact their conclusions point to another global financial depression, something on the order of WWIII, and other nasty aspects of the Winter cycle. You'd have to read the book or some good interviews to grasp it but everything they portrayed as happening to us back in the 1990's is coming to pass.1961 is a baby boomer. Gen X was 1965-1980.
Unaccountable. In their generational theory, authors William Strauss and Neil Howe define Generation X (often referred to as the "13th Generation") as individuals born from 1961 to 1981. This 20-year span differs slightly from the more widely used definition by the Pew Research Center, which classifies Gen X as those born from 1965 to 1980.
Pew Research Center has its origins in a research project created in 1990 by the Times Mirror newspaper company and called the Times Mirror Center for the People & the Press. The Pew Research Center was established in Washington, D.C. in 2004 as a nonpartisan fact tank. It was founded by The Pew Charitable Trusts
Boomers will often gather in large groups, BBQ together, build the fence together. GenXers typically have just one or two close friends and do most things themselves, alone. They rely on themselves and have a general distrust for authority. Which describes you?Yup Im a late boomer 63
Based on what evidence?(but gen X is ‘65-‘80, not ’61 and on.)
given an inch many will take a mile,Surronster has the right idea.I had no idea who Surronster is, but today I happened to have this video in my YT feed...
He states he is not promoting "mega rides" any longer.
Well firstly theres no cut off point for an invented generation description.Boomers will often gather in large groups, BBQ together, build the fence together. GenXers typically have just one or two close friends and do most things themselves, alone. They rely on themselves and have a general distrust for authority. Which describes you?
