much to my chagrin I cannot post a picture(rare as a Dodo) is there a cheap cameras(doesn't matter if its a kids camera) that will work with my chromebook? Its rather stifling-I hark back to "easy share" and XP,sure do miss them.

You could just buy a used smartphone and forget about your Chromebook.

I have had a computer in over ten years.

I use my smartphone for everything.

the problem is my old smartphone is retarded,I actually had a flip phone that would send pictures( believe it or not sometimes it took a week for the picture to appear) so if I get another phone it should post directly to the internet? how about a "fire" tablet? this inability to post pictures is really bothering me,it used to be so easy.

Yep
This is a picture of my TV that I took with my smartphone and then posted the picture here on the forum,..

My phone connects to my TV, and it can connect to a keyboard and mouse as well, but I think it would work better as a camera than a tablet?

I bought a used Samsung S21-fe for $270.
Smartphones depreciate so fast that a 3 year old phone is ¼ of the original price.

the problem is my old smartphone is retarded,

I bought my first smartphone about 10 years ago.
It was a no-name knockoff phone for $100 new.

On the second day, I pulled it out of my pocket and it was dialing 911
I had to explain to the 911 operator what happened.
I had no idea?
I told what happened then I told him I was gonna smash my phone.

Then I bought a real phone.
A non-retarded one. 😁

how about a "fire" tablet?

I don't really know what a "fire" tablet is, but perhaps for the same price, you could buy some sort of tablet (if that's what you want) that's a few years old that was top of the line when it was new?

A Fire tablet is like an Android tablet, but with a layer of proprietary software from Amazon on top and comes with a proprietary app store from Amazon. Personally, I like the Samsung tablets better, but you can get some good deals on the Fire tablets during Amazon sales.

I use my phone to post pictures online. If you're having trouble doing that reduce the photo size down to 40% before posting. It won't hurt photo quality either. If you have a Chromebook like I do you also have to reduce the photo size down before posting. My Chromebook has been in Guest Mode since the day I purchased it. I figured out how to send photos to it from my phone as well. YouTube has some good tutorials for Android, Chrome and Google photo sharing.

@kevinmccune
I assumed that your issue was obsolete equipment, but if there's a way to get what you've already got to work for you, then that's not only the cheapest approach, but it's the easiest way too because if you buy anything new, you still have to learn how to work it.

I too struggled with uploading pictures when this forum started to limit the file upload size to 2 MB.

I managed to figure out how to reduce my file size to 40%, but I kept forgetting and had to relearn the same stupid trick more than a dozen times before I could do it without screwing up.

And remember,..
2 megabytes isn't the same as 2 megapixels.
And there's 8 megabits in a megabyte.
Bits, bytes, and pixels are directly related but not the same when you count them.

And don't forget to have your Wifi, Bluetooth, and Data turned on, and fired up to max, so that when you transport your picture into the space cloud, it has enough energy to make it all the way to outer space and back without getting lost.

Seriously.
You don't need a Facebook" friendly kiddy camera.

You need a Facebook" friendly kid !!

Higher some local kid for $20 to figure out how to connect yourself to the internet and then show you how to do it.

You've got everything you need, with the old crap you gots, to git-er-dun.

When my mom got alzhymers and couldn't turn on her TV no mo, cuz she pushed the wrong button, my sister got her an Old People's remote control, then got my niece to program it, so that my mom could turn her Damn TV on and off, and change the channels.
And work the volume up and down too,..

My mom could then watch Anything she wanted, at Any volume she wanted, without having any wrong buttons in the way to hit by accident.
