2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

A pic from this morning's 17km ride:

New bike day and as mostly happens it arrived late and didn't leave me much time for a ride, spent about 45 minutes replacing the stock saddle with my own...what a faff that was! Anyway I managed a 25 mile ride and I'm very impressed indeed, it is so comfortable and the di2 shifting is excellent! The thing is a rocketship on downhills, the Mavic Ksyrium SL's coupled with the Vittoria Randonneur tech 700c x 32mm tyres are superb! Sorry about the rubbish photos, will get some decent ones soon...the weather was pretty rubbish after a dry start but the mudguards did such a great job and the ceramic coating I paid for meant the bike stayed clean through the rain!

I will do a proper review soon, it might get a long ride done on Sunday weather permitting! At the moment it is looking ok, most other days are looking wet...

Sounds good, but multiple users on route feels a bit social media to me
Have you ever thought of large group ride organisers? Like gravel races? Several organisers ride long routes to verify them; for several formats. Often, changes are necessary as late as two days prior the race.

The capability to improve the routes by several different people is a blessing.

Ah, so YT is not a social medium :)
EBR Forum is not, either :D

Thank you Stefan, yes its a 12 speed with 50x34 front chainrings and 11x34 rear cassette! I was quite surprised it came with the mudguards and rack fitted but very happy it did given the rain! 😂
The most proper e-bike for you! A real road machine with conveniences! Now, you can hide your jacket into a pannier or a rear rack bag when it has stopped raining! I apologise for being skeptical about the Dolan, it looks a thing!

What does your impressive new steed weigh in at?

Its around 16kg (35lbs) including the battery! With the battery removed its a lot easier to carry up my 2 flights of stairs than the Giant!
Rab, just to say something for a perspective:
-- My Vado SL 1 bare weight (the internal battery inside, all equipment out) is also 16 kg
-- My Vado 6.0 weight with the battery is 26 kg.

However, either e-bike has the Walk Mode, so I can walk my e-bikes upstairs. I assume yours (as a road e-bike) has no Walk Mode?

I meant to tell the story of my last Dolan bike which I purchased back in 2014, it was the Le'tape model with di2 also and just after I placed my order I picked up a viral infection! It floored me for almost 6 months, I had to put the bike in the attic for 5 months as I was completely unable to ride it! I had zero energy and there was nothing they could do to help, other than complete rest! The day I finally got to take it out was one of total elation, strangely it was almost the exact same route I took today! I had that bike for 4 years and sold it to buy my Giant Road E+1 Pro, the difference in weight between the 2 bikes was massive.... 🤣

Yes it has walk mode Stefan!
