Free speech is a laudable goal, but it has never been the reality in the United States, except maybe in your own bedroom or neighborhood church, bar, or whatever. This forum ain't any of those places.
The rules of the road in public have always been: "Keep your mouth shut, your door locked, and watch your six." Maybe you think all that is gonna change-- I feel you. I used to think that, too. Brutal experience has taught me otherwise.
Just because someone's opinion is socially or politically acceptable now, yesterday, last year, ten years ago doesn't mean it won't get you thrown in prison-- or worse -- tomorrow, next year, or ten years from now.
