What kind of tail-light do you use?

I'd like a light that fits snugly right under the seat for a cleaner look. I have this saddle - https://www.rei.com/product/850339/respiro-athletic-bike-saddle-unisex and was thinking about the clip-on lights that can be attached but an employee at REI told me that those clip-on lights aren't very good.

I like the small Guee . I agree with under the seat for optimum placement. Strap snaps easy though , fragile rubber. 34 $ US. Can't have enough of em. Easy to strap on and high visibility.

Some of the headlights will include at no additional charge, a little taillight. No idea if any of them area any good or not, just pointing it out that you may not have to purchase a separate taillight. (No, I don't know which ones include them, it will say in the Amazon product description).

Under the seat is great if you don't have any gear on a rack behind the saddle; however, if you've got 'stuff' to carry think about mounting the rear blinky light on the end of the rack where it will be more visible. Nite Rider makes the Solas 40 USB a pretty cool rechargeable tail light that comes with multiple mounts giving you flexibility about where to place the light without having to rig something!

I have the Hotshot 8 usb. My VIZ 180 has greater side visibility but for rear visibility this Cygolite is very hard to beat. VERY bright for a tail light.

Looked at one of those in the store yesterday. Turned it on and 'Ouch!' as it blazed away at me, then tried to shut it off as it seared my retinas with its blinding light. Unfortunately the off button is facing the lens, and there are two buttons, with 7 or so different flash patterns possible with frantic presses. Eyes still hurt!

The new range from Niterider for 2016 was pretty impressive at interbike. Most lights came down in price about $10. Solas comes in two version, one still being a 2-watt obnoxiously bright light. For those folks who want one of those laser bike lane lights that feel a little less cheap, the Sentinel is a great tail light with 40 lumen output

Not sure if it's wide enough to show on either side of my fat bike fender (will have to get the fiance to check), but it's a nice light. Steady bright, flashing, soft pulse, and sort of a disco pulse.

I have gone the creative route, and installed a 12v red LED auto turn signal bulb in an old generator headlight and faced it to the rear.
I ride in heavy urban traffic on poorly designed roads. (lots of lane additions and deletions) It's off season for bikes, and the added speed I have now means I need all the visibility I can arrange. I have a white bulb up front in a more up to date sealed headlight, and keep my blinkys for backup.
I love LED low drain lights!
