Wattwagon E-bike World Record event in Halifax (Aug 3rd) + World's top battery scientist talks about batteries

With a 24 mph average and 41 miles per charge, that is great range for single charge on a battery. You looked like you were going fast in the video. Congrats on the achievement, I bet it was fun to be able to ride at that speed and not have to stop for anything or anybody.

I found this fascinating:

In the last 1 month, we have had both Tesla Model 3 and Porsche do an EV 24hour endurance drive test. All of these drives or rides provide an important metric point for comparison and future benchmarking.

Here is Porsche doing an impressive 2128 miles in 24 hours including stops, that's like ~ 88mph average including charging stops. Goes to show how far EVs have come in the last 5 years.

Although not a direct comparison:

Tesla Model 3 achieved 1728 miles in 24 hours in "real world" like conditions:

This entire thread is astounding to say the least. So much to look forward to in this space. Kudos to ALL of the contributors. This is just what we need for all of the "Go Green" technology. Love it!!

I would say much more reality based than this:

One should be able to get them in bulk quantities starting later this year or early 2020.
They offer 20% less energy density compared to NCA chemistry but offer tremendously long service life. So, if you can settle for 665Whr instead of 800whr, then you can get 10+ years of life before the pack reaches 95% of its capacity.
I was reviewing this old post and wondering where we can buy these cells today?
