Have a 1 year old RIZE RX, 1000 Watt mid drive, I have had some issues with it. Use bike commute to work. Looking to purchase a new bike early December so I will have it start March. Any recommendations 1000 Watt mid drive bike?

Issues with battery, I had to get new one. It was covered but pain in ass, 4 month old battery should have no issues.

Battery issues are pretty rare, and certainly not the fault of Rize. Now that you have a new battery, what are you hoping to accomplish? That bike and it's Bafang Ultra motor are right there at the top of the food chain when it comes to anything similar.

You'll go a ways trying to beat something like this I think:

Pretty steep $ wise for a hard tail trying to look like an MTB. Hydra is a better bet. If you can get one. 14 gear Rohloff ? Fine for riding around the neighborhood or maybe a bit further. But multiuse? Uh uh.

Not something I would be interested in either. It would be more for those trying to improve (spend more money).

Im not happy with range, only get 4okm and I weigh 170lbs.
That's going to be more about you learning how to ride the bike efficiently than anything else. You'll likely need to slow down for starters. More to it than meets the eye early on.

If you buy another Ultra powered bike, it's going to have the same range the one you have does, no matter the "quality" of the bike - all else being equal. You could however, go with one of the new bikes using 2 batteries. That would easily increase your range.

I've been riding ebikes 4 years now, I know how ride bike efficiently. Rarely go above assist mode 3, majority time assist mode 2.

Same bike with FAT tires (2020 Rize RX Pro), 315 lb rider, riding mostly paved surfaces in hilly coastal area, making 35 miles easily (on average, not a one time deal). Range is determined by miles driven of course, but it's worth noting I'm riding the bike from a 100% charge down to 46v. Not bragging, just trying to make a point.....

If all you are getting is 40km (25 miles), something is wrong. Are you charging to 100%?

Yes, as I said I have had bikes for years. Serviced every 400km, I check it every week. Not impressed, the motor is great everything else is average.

I'm just trying to head off the likely disappointment you will be facing after replacing this bike with another Ultra powered bike. There's no magic involved. If you can't get over 40km range with the bike you have, with another bike, even if it were dripping with quality and weighed half of what your current bike weighs, I doubt seriously you're going to see a significant increase in your range. Not without some changes in how you are riding the bike (assuming the bike is right/nothing wrong)....

At half of my weight, that bike should be able to run 50 or 60km pretty easily.....

Another idea, maybe stupid, but are you keeping the tires inflated to something near their max capacity? If they're too low, it could be like towing a boat anchor around in back of you, easily dragging your range down to what you are seeing.

Yes. every weekend I check the bike out. I might keep the bike just looking for upgrade suggestions.

It seems like you weren't happy with the quality of battery though?

Since you're looking for another Ultra bike, (I'm assuming Ultra?) you were happy with the motor.

If you just want the better battery, you can replace it, but it's been done already.
That's a thought Timpo. He could go with one of those ginormous aftermarket 25ah batteries pretty easily.

There's also the potential of making some controller programming changes too. That might be worth checking out/looking in to.

Yes I like getting a better ebike every year, I save so much money commuting to work everyday using my ebike. Usually sell 1 year bike at approx 70% what I pay.
