AVOID RIZE BIKES AT ALL COST.

Bafang M620 can be tuned up with dead blow and mallet. For $1700 got new 52v motor complete plug play and rebuild 48v motor with controller uncalibrated.
Another $200 to calibrate locally.
I field tested both motors, 52V has less range only 23 miles on 48v battery.

Rode my Ultra like it was stolen through the horse trails of Van Cortland park yesterday afternoon. Though it was only 37°f there was full sun and not an inkling of wind.. Absolutely beautiful crisp day. The trail was difficult with a lot of leaf cover so it was hard to avoid some pedal strikes but the Ultra climbed the steep root/rock loaded terrain like a goat.
Amazing how controllable the output can be.

Snack break (fruit & dark chocolate covered espresso beans) by the duck pond.
Wouldn't trade my Ultra.

Wouldn't trade my Ultra for all the wet Canadian panties out there 🙃
That Ultra/Rohloff is a pleasure to ride, very fine control, and will climb anything. Looks like a nice day with no wind.

I went gone ride 10 miles after smoking Vados eat Egg Mc Muffin Coffee and apple pie. I trespass Navy property. Just counting bridges.
Like your bike #26 post.
Low slung rear shock is the new thing on $7K EBikes.
Yeah I got the Bulls E Stream Evo back from the shop but Brose has hiccups.
It cuts off when I stop pedaling while on descent.
Bafang Ultra is still going with no issues.

The Rohloff is definitely half the equation especially when speaking of climb ability... but the more refined power delivery of the Ultra makes control ability in the precarious situations more manageable.
I'm hooked!

Thanks for the like.
Your bike looks cool
Does it come in black.?
Yeah I ate some CBD gummy 2x and now I'm awake and can not go to sleep.
Thanks... It's still not in production, supposedly available spring 2024 but the rest of the Zen line is available in black so I'd assume so.
Funny my last bike was black and wanted the same here but this has grown on me.

I deleted my post because you quoted it.
How did you get ownership of the bike if it is not in production until spring break?
You don't have to answer.
I really like the rear suspension set up .

It was a limited build/prototype. Ravi has a thread where he posted some photos and discussed it's future along with other bikes. I believe you posted there too.

What is your front chain ring, and rear cog size?

38T is the standard for the m620.
and 170 mm crank length.
It may very well be... I'll have to pop the guard to confirm.
Today I'm more concerned about my teeth in this standard peppers/onion/cherry tomato/panko chicken chain ring.

I bought my Rize City MD in 2022. I agree with Tarhodes that Rize has very poor customer support. They do have excellent support before the sale. In emails with the brand name of the brakes, I was told by the representative of the brake company that, based on the pictures that I sent, he didn't believe the brakes were made by his company. They have taken the brand name of the spec sheet of the City MD.
When I bought my Rize City MD, I knew that I was the one who was going to fix, repair, and/or deal with the issues of the bike. In Indianapolis there is a shop that will work on Rad Bikes, but there is no other bike shop that I am aware of that will work on any other mail order bike, unless the shop sales that brand.
I love my Rize Bike. It met most of my criteria. I have a very acceptable range, because of the dual battery system. My brake pads will need to be replaced soon, so I am looking for the replacements now. I did replace the seat post with one that had a shock absorber. Please remember that I bought the bike I was ready to be the person to deal with and solve the issues of the bike. In other words, I had low expectations of customer support.

🤣🤣🤣
Believe it or not I'm not exactly sure
But a quick look without getting my hands dirty (multi tasking a pizza) it looks like a 40(42?) x 16(17?)
I'm gonna change my rear cog maybe to a 17. I've got a 21 on the rear and 42 on teh front and it has ridiculous climbing ability.

Looks delicious.
You don't have to remove nothing to check how many teeth on ring gear.
Just flip the bike upside down and look at the chain ring from the port side of your bike spin the wheel until you see stamped marking on your ring gear it's more easy to see if the chainring had been pressure bubble washed .You will see BCD and numbers of teeth on it.
It doesn't indicate narrow wide tho you have to figure that out yourself.

OK after inspection and a chain lube I can confirm 40t x 16t
edit: Chain ring is stamped NW40T so narrow/wide is now included information.

In contrast.. Zen eBikes has provided absolutely outstanding support both before and after purchase.
That said I went into this knowing it was a direct to consumer purchase and did my research fully understanding that I was going to be the mechanic on duty. For those that can.. I (you'll) find it to be much more convenient and satisfying.
It's not for everyone and blaming a seller for your ignorance and then expecting special treatment out of warranty I find hysterical.
@Tarhole... Not participating in a forum and then having this be your only contribution I find you guilty of douchebaggery and condemn you ball_busting hell

I don't understand your comment about my post. I am happy with my purchase, not with my current weather. The bike met my criteria, and I entered the purchase with my eyes wide open. So what is the problem?

No problem with your post... I was agreeing. 👍
