When the rear show wear, rotate it to the front. Just like rotating the hub caps on a car.

Over the years on my "analog" bikes I've been used to rotating my tires yearly or so but interestingly my front hub commuter/grocery getter now seems to be wearing front and rears fairly evenly.

Okay, so the front hub motor is doing about the same work as the pedals. A mid-drive puts more on the rear.

That's my assumption too. Based on previous experience it just struck me a little unusual when I first noticed it ... but it's a pleasant surprise.
