Thumb throttle CRUISE CONTROL easy peasy in 2 seconds

Another cable tie hack that I use is inserting a tiny cable tie( the box end) into the brake lever opening created when you squeeze the lever.
Then nobody can turn the motor on when I have the bike locked up and would have a very slow getaway even if they cut through the 3 chains or locks.

Handlebars, this isn't something I would try personally, or even endorse, but you've forgotten to mention that your top speed with a locked throttle is easily controlled (to a certain extent) on some bikes by the PAS level selected. PAS1 for instance, may only go 10-12 mph at wide open throttle. If you want to go faster, you'll need to go to PAS2.

I didn't know that some bikes have top speed controlled that way. That's good for some possible situations. Glad mine isn't that way. For everyday riding I set my PAS at 3 for starters, use throttle, and pedal, but throttle slightly before pedaling, and when I reach the speed that matches what pedaling at a medium gear would be, I get off the throttle and just use the PAS as they blend.
I use throttle for almost every start from stop.
All that goes away, though, if I get really freezing hands. Then it's just throttle and brakes. In freezing winter weather it's better anyway, and I keep the seat lowered too, in case of emergency saves using the feet on the ground. I'm going to try to reducing riding in that weather, but the throttle lock could be a lifesaver on a rare occasion because you struggle so much less and can pay more attention to the road and your balance with feet at the ready.

zip ties, duct tape and bailing wire
LOL , I have used all of those on my build and I have a thumb throttle. Guess my bike is not good, according to pedaluma.
Oh and I almost forgot...I have cruise control function that came with my KT controller.

Reminds me of another poster that installed snap off pedals. Simple yet effective.

I hid the on button on the battery under the velcro straps, still works , just can't physically see it.
