@fooferdoggie You have strip lights on the tandem's frame, not the wheels, IIRC. I like the idea of putting lights in the wheels, but concerned about attaching securely, so the frame is probably best if I decide to really ride in the dark. Something I hope to avoid at my age.

these zip tie they even come with metal zip ties. the battery zip ties to the hub. I have had them for several years. yes I have them on the tandem then the light I posted on the wheels of both bikes. but ya if your not in the dark no lights will really do much the decorative ones that is. none are very bright in anything but mostly dark.

Monkey LED Lights are the best for night time visibility...These arent just one color, they have cool designs you can choose from and they come to life when you get some speed. The designs really pop out and stand out when you are riding around...lots of looks and compliments. They attach to the spoke easily and installation is a breeze.

I had those but I would forgot to turn them on. is I went with the smaller one its auto on and off and only in the dark. not quite as visible but still plenty.

I thought about these a little more today , decided to get one from a UK supplier. I think they will be a good addition to my teenage sons road bike as he’s often nipping between friends houses in the dark evenings. If it keeps him visible for a month or so i’ll be happy. I’ll report back.this one is stated at <100g per unit..

my only complaint its a hassle to get the battery box on and a bit of a hassle to unscrew and screw it. I just use it on the front wheel to save the hassle of the back. whats great about them is if your ride starts when it is dark or light and changes they come on on their own. they flash red when your done and the batteries are low.
Ok so my interest got the better of me and I bought this unit more local via eBay. Fitted to sons single speed analog and just to show what it’s like...this one is stated at <100g per unit..

perhaps one for the younger riders lol!
but it’s pretty bright and at ca 15km/h it creates a full 360’ light pattern

Monkey lights with the auto on are amazing. There is also reflector tape that is meant to go on the spokes. Its a little fiddly to get on but they shine really bright in headlights. Bonus is that they weight next to nothing.

Many of the concerts in the the area I grew up in used a light show named 'Ectoplasmic Assault'. I always thought that was a cool name.Reminds me of the psychedelic light shows in '60s... Groovy!
Those really were the days. Concerts tickets were cheap. You just massed down on the floor right up front if that's where you wanted to stand. Today's concerts are BS. Money for concerts was pretty much pocket-change even though our working wages were a fraction of what they are now. I paid $5 to see my first 'big venue' concert. I paid less than one hour's wages to see Led Zeppelin in 1977. CN
