Today I went for a spirited 10 mile ride around the city before landing at my local Peet's Coffee. I decided to park the bike just outside the entrance door and sip my coffee and recover. Within 10 minutes I had half a dozen people surrounding my bike and asking questions. Long story short........I offered rides around the parking lot to anyone who wanted to do so. ALL SIX took me up on my offer............and then pestered the hell out of me with questions. I handed out collateral (I carry brochures) to all and got such strong feedback that am sure I created some sales. One fellow was the former mayor of a local community over the hill from where I live and asked if I might present to the city council and their police force. What excited them was not the brand but the experience.

Since (hopefully) the purchase would be centered around law enforcement versus much else in a municipality...it would be interesting (should you accept) to hear what LE values in an ebike selection process. I would expect that comparative (throttled) power capability would loom large given the speed at which incidents occur.

For what it is worth, a couple of months ago I was talking to the local Stromer dealer in Cincinnati, and he said he had sold a number of Stromers to law enforcement in the area. They all chose the Elite over the Platinum because they valued the higher torque and greater acceleration over top speed. They also required removable batteries so they could have them charging at the sub-station and just pop-in for a quick swap.

IMO, anything that gets police out of cars and interacting with the community is a positive.

There are so many uses for ebikes in law enforcement (highly mobile/stealth/powered observation platform or simply 'parked' marked/not as well) that 'community relations uses' (pretty much the exact opposite in terms of use when operated in uniform) would make a great comparative report for public analysis in regards to any (solely desired) 'public interaction' purpose.

The only thing I find sexy these days is an ice cold chocolate "Ensure" and vodka.
