I always try to reason with them. Nobody is too far gone to abandon. You need to get them to answer their own questions
For example, I would ask them "if you want to know about the temperature in the close period before the infamous industrialization you hold mainly responsible for the rise, would you look at graphs with the type of resolution you'd find in an 800,000 year type of graph or a 2000 yr graph?".
Nobody is too far gone to abandon? hahaha

So how did that affect the graph? Did it move the needle? Maybe this mass exodus of humans will help the graph.. Read that deaths are up 40% per an indiana insurance company... they said to put things in perspective.. a one in 200 year catastrophe would raise it by 10%... Seems these free injections are working .. And no this wasnt from Covid..

You remind me of the Senator (I forget his name) that said climate change was a hoax because when the ice melts in my drink my glass doesn't overflow.
But what if the ice was 6500 to 10,000 feet thick, and above his glass? That is the thickness of the Greenland ice sheet.

The streetlamps melted by global warming according to activist media stooges ThinkProgress

That's probably true however a nor'easter these days on the coast of Maine is more likely a rain event these days. Last winter we got very little snow but a fair amount of rain. Been the same so far this winter with bare ground at the moment. I've lived in this area off and on for over 60 years and winters are milder than in my youth. The odd thing is that summers here don't seem to have gotten warmer. There was only one day this summer and two days last summer when it was hot enough to use the AC side of my heat pumps.
Look to the "poles", the relative warming there is very troubling, earlier this year, we had almost normal weather when few jets were flying. My Friend an aircraft mechanic, pilot, plane owner made the point, that each jet burns a relative "swimming pool" of fuel crossing the US. While the summers in this area do not seem to be much warmer, the sun feels more intense, do you think the PTB would tell us if something was happening with our star?( I chuckle everytime one of those bad science fiction films come on that show the heros saving the Earth by lobbing an atomic bomb into the sun( old Sol wouldn't even notice)

I regularly see 6-10 in the field in front of my house but never that many. Most often it's deer. My record to date has been 14 deer. Don't know about greener but I've heard wild turkey isn't as good taste wise.
Those things taste pretty good if you are poor.

I suspect that watching pharma advertisements makes people ill. That is good for their business. I shut that stuff OFF.
@VoltMan99, It is freezing here. I am headed down to get a steaming bowl of local crab claw chowder with SF sourdough. Then I get to work on a really cool and creative bike project to protect my cabin fever, pandemic sanity for the New Year.

The floating ice will not raise the sea level the ice that is supported by land or something solid will, if the North Polar icecap is floating it will not raise sea level if Greenlands ice is supported by land it will when it melts

This is so common. And, sad. It is one reason I like to hop on a bike, be creative or read a book. But I do like that you can see it and avoid getting sucked into wasting your life in front of a TV. Today I am reading mythology from a feminist perspective, Gaia is pissed, and I am fixing up a lovely Ultegra road bike. The derailleur just came out of a Mobil 1 bath.

"At least 16 of the 25 staff based at Belgium’s Princess Elisabeth Polar Station have caught the virus, the Le Soir newspaper reported, proving there is no escape from the pandemic.

Princess Elisabeth polar station in Antarctica.

The outbreak took hold despite all staff passing multiple PCR tests, quarantining and living in one of the most remote places in the world. All 25 researchers were fully vaccinated and one had a booster shot. Before leaving for the station, they had PCR tests in Belgium two hours before flying to South Africa.

In Cape Town they quarantined for 10 days and took another PCR test.

A further test was needed when leaving for Antarctica and a final one five days after that."

What is important is taking responsibility ourselves. I sold my car in January of 2018. And have used ebikes daily ever since.
That's a beautiful thing. So you found out about the cause of global warming and then you sold your car or you found out and then bought your car?

"Ignore" is a great option, but so is "Report," particularly when it comes to repeatedly posting disinformation in the middle of a public health crisis.

I have been known to make use of that button myself. As I did for the post in question.
I haven’t bothered in months to look at ignored posters history but the trollup here was primarily posting in this thread. Weird. That said I’ve found the rest of the regulars here to me enjoyable reads. It’s attitude lifting to know there are thinking peers.

It's actually stupid to block conflicting information in a complex situation, for example when the authorities a such as Fauci repeatedly and intentionally mislead the public and the government, for example on the usefulness of masks. Instead of trying to insure supplies by buying up stock early or getting a freeze on stock so he could obtain it, and telling the public to make their own masks, he lied and told the public that the best advice is to not wear a mask.
later suggestion he gave was to wear two masks
Then people who like to censor information that they do not want to see, they wage war on false grounds and poor undertsanding and the result can be to end up hurting public health and hurting confidence in authorities.

it's a good sign that the moderation team here does not act on all the under-educated censorious whinging. Kudos!
