Native American is so goddam patronizing. I´m fine with injun, the Washinton Redskins, Kansas City Chiefs.
At least it keep the notion alive that those peoples did exist & some still do. Tribal registries represent but
1% on U.S. population but their genes have spread thru millions of Americans living today & their spirits
live on in many more here. To date there has been just one ´native´ US senator. Blacks, hispanics, & asians
have faired little better. (´Hispanics´ actually primarily of native decent). For the most part, racism is just
white fear, fear of having all that was stolen taken back.
that's not racist because it's against whites
murdering that black ex-policeman was not murder because he was preventing "justice". no outrage over that life snatched. no mourning that life by the thug hypocrites.

Blacks, hispanics, & asians
skin color, nationality/language, geography
Lets see how many more sources of division we can make and the history of the same old thing in everyone, erased

She is incapable of anything that complex( takes Me forever) on the other hand my Daughter could set Her right up( I used to be able to setup up the early VCRs-I think these days 'Plaque" and concussions are taking their toll) In a Hospital where She was staying a while back they had a controller that had hardly any buttons, that's what She needs, most of the time all She needs is volume-channel, off and on.
I guess the DVR is the electron thieves answer to "Ala carte" commercial free TV.
I´m pretty sure 15 min. of every hour is commercial these days,( with a few exceptions) When I was little
I remember watching Aurthur Godfrey with my gramma & enduring 2- 30 second spots per hour on
absolutely free TV.

There was no cannibalism slavery or girl snatching going on with the only pureheart "spiritual" people on earth.

Jim Thorpe is the greatest athlete in US history. He helped to invent modern football and was an Olympian like no other. Why shouldn't a team honor a heritage like that? What a lot of people do not want to hear, left and right, is that racism is wrong. Because the idea of race at all is false. Race in fact does not exist. It has less validity than astrology. Race is a fiction made up to divide. It is true that the first cowboys were Indians. The Spanish missions had cows but no one to heard them. The padres in dresses were not about to do it. So they put Indian boys on horses.

They just didn't listen.
You know, that reminds me. I heard that the earthworm was brought in on the hooves? Apparently there are forested lands the earthworm invaders haven't reached yet.
It's a really good thing, too, because our burgers are going to be different under the coof regime.

I subscribe to Hulu (Japan) solely for the purpose of “Live TV” which includes BBC and CNN. They’re not allowed to play commercials since it’s a paid service. What a godsend! However I’ve timed the breaks between segments - CNN International only has 35 minutes of live broadcast per hour, BBC has 45. Instead of commercials CNN plays these ever repeating travel scenery videos with the same terrible synthesized music score. BBC just repeats their countdown song.

It’s a lot better than commercials however!

If you go the the gallery of old indian photos you will see the faces of every ethnicity: That is because
everyone got here before Columbus,& blended into what are called ¨Native Americans¨ The process
continues.

They´re also quite fond of the patronizing term, ´äboriginals¨ in Canada. Linguistically the Aztecs are
related to the Ute & Shoshone. The brutality was actually borrowed from the Mayan ¨flowery warś,
( religion driven population control). Territorial strife is inevitable when resources for one group dwindle.
Presently this is happening on a global scale driven by overpopulation & climate change. It is going
to get far worse if we cannot control our numbers, climate abuse. & soil depletion. It is a coming
mass extinction in progress.
Methinks few People realize why the populations of Hunter-gatherer groups are usually low, Agriculture allowed our ranks to swell beyond control when the next famine hits who will be spared? Not the guy who owns the Bunker well stocked with "Beenie Weenies"
Would like to see someone write a post-apocalyptic story about the "Battle for the last can of Beenie Weenies". I never did care for those things anyways, pork and beans suited me just fine. Instead of People furiously "prepping"( a reasonable amount is alright) I would love to see People furiously working on ways to get along together and not make any manmade apocalypse( the "Doomsday Clock" edges ever closer to Midnight) if the greed can be throttled back perhaps the poor folks would stand a chance after all, have been perusing "The Art of War" and my biggest takeaway so far is-do not be the commander or overlord of the losing group, it will cost your head.

I love that 'The Art of War' is really about the art of peace. I like the idea of the two brother physicians in the book. One is famous for his heroics and grand measures. The other is unknown because everyone in his village is healthy. Which is the better physician? The best General never has to fight. Because the peace is won before any battle.

Last night on Nova I watched a documentry on arctic ice. A team of scientists spent almost a year,
much of it based from an icebreaker frozen into an ice floe. While NASA has said the polar ice covers
about the same area as ever,( to the delight of deniers), the team discovered it is only a fraction of
the thickness,( hence volume) , that it was just a decade ago. the study, which was slated to go into
it´s 2nd september, had to be abandoned when in july the arctic ocean disintegrated into a sea of
small chunks. They also dicovered that snow leveis are actually contributing to the thaw by insulating
the ice from colder surface temps. while allowing warmer sea temps, to melt it from beneath,
Yeah, I almost wish I hadn’t watched it. Hopefully I’ll be taking my dirt nap and miss the catastrophic results.

Watch last week’s PBS ‘Earth Emergency’ which really gets into feedback loops. For example the heat and drought in NW Us and Canada has stressed many millions of forest acreage which now are dead or dying full of beetles. Makes great fires. Or the melt waters from Greenland and Canada shutting down the Atlantic conveyor and the dramatic effects on N. Europe. Or less sea ice reflecting sunlight and instead absorbing it to warm the waters further. They’re are many and they interact.

My wife sez the same thing. It really puts a damper on my plan to live forever.

I´m old; I´m a prepper cuz I need to be busy instead of bored. I need a primative life style so I can appreciate
well being. Nothing fancy, just a foxhole with nice curtains somewhere completely obscure & well above
sea level.

Did you think that it is not true that JoeRomm's ThinkProgress and Bill McKibbon 350 believed that streetlamps were melting due to global warming?
These were 2 of the more intellectual types in the global warming media, with Andy Revkin as another one, smarter than the other 2 put together...he didn't buy in.
It goes to show how hysteria infects the mind.
At 114 degrees F, even if the sun was heating the streetlamps as well, to melt the streetlamps? What temperatures do these global warming fanatics think that sodium or metal halide bulbs operate at? Body temperature?

That's why you didn't believe it, I guess. It's just too too stupid to be real. Brains turned to diseased mush.
That is the scene, though. Unbelievable stupidity and lies, swallowed wholesale, never properly questioned.
Supporters in turn find it hard to face up to what kind of damaged people they have placed their trust in. The "hysterical stupidity" virus has high transmission rates. I should add,so I did add, that the insanity messages were not from JoeRomm, just from his people in charge at the site.

I get what you are saying-- and I feel that this is a really interesting point. For the last 50 years, and particularly in the last 25, we've been flooded with pseudo-scientific / corporate blather, where outlier examples are cherry-picked, aggregated and assembled as if they prove something they do not. Given a certain set of life experiences, I think I can understand how folks might conclude that anthropogenic climate change is another example of people being deliberately misled.
Yes, I can see that you are offering understanding of cause of distrust.
What you do not "get" is that the misleading and deceit which has the most impact has been initiated by top level climate scientists in IPCC. You are not even familiar with that part of the story, so your understanding has huge holes in it.

What sold me was the atmospheric concentration of CO2. This can be measured very accurately from ice cores, we have very good numbers going back over two million years.
The trouble with showing a graph of 800,000 years is the same trouble as showing 4 billion years...the resolution is not fit for purpose.
Say, for example, if sampling is every 10,000 years, what would be missed in proxies during the last 9,800 years? All of this could be missed, from miserably low CO2 , when weather was so brutal and humanity went sliding backwards, and they began burning witches for the bad weather they were causing. It would miss the CO2 in times of high temperatures when history also tells us the temp was high, as in the Viking days.
