The Guardian has a long and venerable history
No doubt they have a long venereal history.
The trouble is that your article is garbage. You won't even try to defend it - 'cause inside, you know it's deceptive.
Oil companies are the biggest supporters of climate study in universities.
Royal DutchShell and BP were the original big funders of making the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) in Univerisity of East Anglia, where the global temp records are handled.

I don't have much knowledge about the Guardian, but just read the ads.
The same companies that paid for those ads had more paid lobbyists at COP than any of the pacific island countries, and they brought lots of money, unlike countries like say, India that just came looking for money.
Are you thereby not in agreement that the COP result is bought and paid for?

There is no rail access to Canada’s biggest port after days of torrential rain and landslides.
"Stewart, B.C. has recently received heavy snowfalls and will receive another generous accumulation. This will melt as the rain system arrives and drainage systems could be blocked or overwhelmed. Localized or perhaps widespread flooding could result."

Cognitive dissonance, denial with what is happening right now.

Our major highways are still blocked. One going to the interior is just gone in sections.

This is happening! This is not a matter of rhetoric or opinion.
The very biggest shipping days of the year have been totally shut down for all of Western Canada. Farmers in Saskatchewan cannot get food to market. Little kid's will get coal for Christmas because their toys are stuck at the port. This is because of Climate Change caused by humans.
What has to happen before you will admit reality. A 16C day during this coming January in Saskatchewan? Would that do the trick?

The Washington Post has a photo/essay today on the flooding in B.C. And Washington state. Maybe I’ll try and post it…but no crying if it’s paywalled

Not interested in being sucked into someone's personal debating club. I value when someone brings a different perspective than most, but challenging just to provoke adds nothing and is frankly disrespectful to the OP and subject at hand.

There is an error in your mind-reading of "just to provoke". Why aren't any articles and remarks posted that confirm and conform to your beliefs also done "just to provoke"? See what I mean? Why is it a one-way street for you?

And you have error in fact: "adds nothing". If investigation of what the believers believe is confirmed, that The Guardian is telling the truth, then readers would be able to have more confidence in what is being told and in other articles by The Guardian. On the other hand, if it's shown to be deceptive, that is valuable information too, and these apply no matter which side you are on.

Of course "this" is happening. What the cause of "this", though, is a matter of opinion. Experts can tell you but you need to listen with your ears properly and read your evidence properly; it is their considered opinion. But you can call them out for that if it's not to your satisfaction.

Yeah, but only by 97% of them.

Yeah, but only by 97% of them.
Yeah, but only by 97% of them.
That's nonsense. I've already shown a fine detail examination of the consensus claim and how they cheated. They claimed to have been surveying % of climate science papers that agreed that humans are the cause of over 50% of the warming since 1950. They cheated by secretly changing the meaning of "AGW" that they claim they are using, from causing over half of warming, to "humans contribute".
All the 97% consensus studies are amateur hour cheats like that.
By that definition I agree also!
Humans cause warming.

Yeah, but only by 97% of them.
So should we debate weather or not the moon is made out of green cheese because it is 'opinion'? This is established. It is time to move ahead and fight climate change. The days for Chamberlain's are over. The days for Churchill's are here.

That happens. Here's one from mid Feb 2017
"Most of Saskatchewan has been basking in warm, snow-melting temperatures and sunshine this week. But it's hard not to turn green with envy when looking at weather in the southwest, particularly Maple Creek.

The community is Saskatchewan's own little California. It often tops the charts for warm temperatures in the province.
