We still have the final quarter of 2021 to play out. Maybe there won't be any more major climate change related weather events for the rest of the year. But, with the human made disaster of pollution impacting the stability of the polar vortex, that is highly unlikely. Who would bet on that with money? Remember any of these weather events in 2021? Yeah,if we can't even get a simple pandemic under control by getting everyone vaccinated we certainly are not going to get the man made destruction of the planet under control.

I don´t much care anymore. 5 years ago there where 60 million sub-saharan climate refugees; today we
have at least a million domestic American refugees as well as millions more from south of the border. The
primary cause is over population & driven by the greed of a few who are contributing nothing to a solution.
By itś very nature the government cancels out any progress with endless bickering & ulterior designs.
They can´t pass a plan, but not to worry. They didn´t let the gov shut down or miss out on another $170k
paycheck. That would never do! As for the pandemic, I´m disappointed that itś only killed .2 0f 1 percent
of the total U.S. population in the last 18 mos. We´ve sacrificed so much yet made not the slightest progress
at controlling over-population. I´m not sure an abortion bill will solve the problem? More stupid people is putting
evolution in reverse. Corporate just loves the idea.

Can you think of or point to any reason why that would not be happening even if humans did not exist? Obviously we have a warming influence. Just suppose we did not exist. Can you think of any reason why sea level should NOT rise 5 feet in a century ?

You've identified a variable, overpopulation, as the root of the warming problem.
I'd say it's causing all kinds of problems now and although other concerns could emerge as even more pressing, warming will do for now, as the biggest existential fear in all western societies.
That being the case, such catastrophes as warming might bring, would surely produce great strife, disease, blights, and reduce the population.

It all depends on outlook. Why wouldn't all their worst imaginings be considered a good thing?
