Surgical Masks and KN95 Masks offerings by EM3ev

Thanks to Ravi for posting the information and the link. All the people in the know from countries that have this virus under (somewhat) control advocate the use of masks. Trump still thinks it's a hoax. I'm not able to find any for sale here but have some on the way from the link Ravi posted.

Qualisports was generous and sent my dealership some protective masks. Thoughtful gesture on their part as an Ebike OEM.

I just received my 10-pack of facemasks and one x-95 mask. How should these be sterilized before use? Three days in the sun? Microwave with a cup of coffee?

Glad you made use of the opportunity.
You need to sterilize them if you want to reuse. Most medical supplies are UV sterilized before they are sealed /packaged.
For peace of mind, you can UV sterilize them. If you don't have access to UV equipment, I would spray a small amount of disinfectant on the packaging before opening it up.

I would assume This applies to anyone anywhere in the Group Type : Masks are Good But Prayer Works Much Better

We're using them, AN95, under a Buff. We wash and rinse with boiling water.

This terrified me,

Not a good idea to wash masks... it destroys the effectiveness of the filtration.

See the attached article for details... it's far better to steam them with boiling water.

I doctor friend said if you can alternate them Store in a dry area and use ever 3 days : If not Put in small paper bag and set oven to lowest temp for 30-60 Minutes

thanks for sharing the links, @FlatSix911
We’re not washing the AN95 or the N95. Rather use buffs and double layer fitted cloth masks with AN95 inserts. There are to many confusing reports. There are sterile techniques being used. 95 rated masks have an electrostatic later which is destroyed if using an oven with the masks in contact with metal grates or a cookie sheet.

For the price of the masks purchased from Ravi's link I can keep my friends and family supplied with masks for the $100 I spent. I only intend on wearing a mask when necessary to go into crowded areas, I live in a small town and that wouldn't be too often. I intend of discarding a mask once used. This morning I saw on TV the prices some are charging for masks and it's a crime, kudos to EM3ev for what they're doing. As to whether or not these masks meet certain specs I really don't care they're at least one hundred times better than wrapping a scarf around your head as some are advocating.

Tom,pardon my ignorance but what are "buffs"?

I've seen masks from China for less on amazon, but (a) source? and (b) while a little less money, they won't arrive til mid or late may. I am more concerned about the source.

I trust Paul.

I received my masks from Paul in three days, not the three months I sometimes wait for things from China. Paul bought the best masks he could get in China, he bought the masks for his family and staff. I think by now everyone knows EM3ev make a really good quality battery, my Wattwagon came with one and it's a gem.

I happen to come across a single mask on ebay (N95) that was bidding at an astounding $1220.00US! The bidding history started at approx $3.00, however, within less than 8 hours reached the posted amount. The desperation for these is crazy.
