What Do You Do With Your Old Unused Conventional Bikes?

Yeah, adding 80 N.m to a 12 yr old kid might too much for it.
Especially if the 12 yr old rides it like any normal 12 yr old kid. 😂
Hey, forget about the 12 year old. This 62 year old would ride it!! :D I loved my Chopper. It was one of the only things of mine that was ever stolen. Sigh.

There is the 250 and 350 Watt 2-speed automatic Bafang hub motor that might fit the drop-out?
But then the shifter is just an ornament. 😂

But there's lots of geared hubs to pick from and a 3-speed geared hub, paired with a small BB motor would suit it fine.

Hehehe… Yeah, since we were having the discussion about Bafang’s shifting hubs elsewhere, @PCeBiker , I just liked the idea of integrating them into a Chopper or a Schwinn…

No! I insist that the shifter absolutely must be integrated into the function of the bike!! I mean that was part of the silliness of these bikes’ designs! :D :D I guess that since the Bafang internally-geared hub stuff is automatic, the shifter would have to get used for pedal assist level. Seriously, though, that probably wouldn’t be a very good answer.

I'm pretty sure this three-speed hub would work perfectly with a BB motor,..

You can hook up a Hal sensor to the shifter cable to maintain a fully functional shifter.

Don't forget the hockey (or baseball) cards in your spokes for the proper aural affect. 😂

EDIT: That's an automatic gear hub.
I doubt that it has a manual override?

I'm gunna keep looking,...

I had a freind that had an automatic 1982 Camaro and put a shift kit in it so that the transmission would shift when he shifted the gear selector to imitate a manual transmission.

He was trying to show it off to me and I said, "It's not shifting gears whe you shift".
He got all 😡 and had no explanation.

So faking a 3-speed manual with a 3-speed automatic doesn't work. 😂
