I have followed this blog for sometime and the content is usually very good.

Here is a complete teardown of Stromer ST1 battery pack. The attention to detail is really excellent.

Final Thoughts
I've seen some sketchy packs, I've seen some good packs. This pack? This is a good pack. It's well thought out, well put together, has a competent BMS split nicely between the logic and power sections, and it's very well protected. Nobody is going to shake this pack apart and damage it without tossing a bike off a cliff - and even then, the pack would probably be just fine. If anything, it's a bit over built - which impacts weight and cost, but I'm not going to complain too much.

TdHitech also makes the packs for BH ebikes.
Not sure if you opened one or not , but it’s exactly the same, the later packs are even safer with the additional glued black rubber strips. I actually by mistake /accident about an year ago dropped the 36volt pack Of my older Evo down a long NyC subway staircase (spare pack in the backpack and backpack fell ) . Needless to say all was perfectly fine and still is.
The thermistor of the pack is really useful when using the Satiator chArger As it shows the battery cells temp. ( for those into the tech stuff it’s a nice detail).
The issue is that a 500wh 48/12.6 BH pAck is 750$ And the 522wh Stromer is 1000$.
The 250$ difference is unjustified.
Or their 983wh for 2.000$ !! That same pack construction in a 600wh is 750$ . I can get 1.2kw for 1.5k. And that’s what i just did awhile Ago...

...and these batteries were packed years ago!

Meanwhile, Stromer shifted from the octagon battery to the square battery, raised the tension to 48V an implemented the EnergyBus-protocol. To ensure the supply line, they work with two different battery packers now.

The latest battery for the outdated ST1 series was the BO630 (=630Wh), US part 400442, list price $999. As this is much money, many ST1 owners her in Europe use re-fitted batteries from 3rd party suppliers.
